Are illegals good for Americans?
Are sanctuary cities good for Americans?
Is free healthcare for illegals good for Americans?
Is 'kinda' supporting those whom riot, loot, murder and commit arson good for Americans?
Is defunding the police good for Americans?
Are higher taxes good for Americans?
Is healthcare that doubles profits for insurance carriers good for Americans?
We know the aforementioned can be good for various fringe factions, the Dem pet projects but by and large do Americans win?
Tell us what policies / ideals Dems are pushing that aren't aimed at 2%'ers, fringe factions.....which are aimed to benefit average Americans?
Immigration is a complex topic. You're trying to boil it down into slogans and soundbites. Undocumented workers in this country do jobs that most white people..wouldn't do. And you constantly forget about the corporations that hire and pay these people willingly. You gonna sanction them? Why not offer a path to citizenship for these people and for DACA and focus the INS and BPS on finding the bad apples and shipping them out of the country? I don't want to spend time hassling people who are productive members of the workforce, even if they are here illegally. There would be no need for sanctuary cities if there was sensible immigration policy. Meaning, productive undocumented people wouldn't have the specter of arrest and immediate deportation hanging over their head. Free healthcare for undocumented people was a campaign slogan. To be ignored. Just something to be made into a soundbite for the right wing. Address the issues behind the protest and people wouldn't have to resort to looting and rioting (which I don't condone but I understand why it happens). Defunding the police entirely is not an answer. Sensible people have already come to that conclusion. But police need some sort of guardrails. Otherwise, how will things ever change?
Your last two require larger discussions on policy. We know tax cuts do NOT increase revenues. They stimulate temporary growth which in the end encourage deficit spending and amplify budget deficits.
Healthcare should be accessible and affordable for all Americans without being tied to an employer. No one should have to go broke because they need to pay for healthcare, or operations, or prescriptions.
Like it or not, the federal government can be a help in the form of a high risk pool and/or a public option. We've had a decade to fix/amend the ACA. And y'all know who has stood in the way of that?
Look at us, discussing policy. See, Trump hasn't driven the good out of us completely.
