I've seen this same Popular Mechanics crap for 50 years
 
amazing how wrong those visionaries were.
If we were not as concerned with making money and war we might be there.

And how would these big technological advances exist if we weren't concerned with making money? Do you think these discoveries are made for free?

The flying cars will be Chinese made anyway.

Taxpayer grant money.

Did Henry Ford receive tax payer grant money to manufacture the automobile? What about the Wright Brothers?

yup.....back in the late 50's when i was a mere lad....the sci-fi publications of the day would all depict flying cars and floating cities in the year 2000.....

Working "flying cars" were available in the 1950s. They were not practical then and are not practical now.

People have enough problems driving normal cars

well the war part anyway...the money part may actually help....someone has to pay for it...and money does spur on inovation....
