Florida shows real genius, gonna put kids to work!

What wages should a 15-year-old living at home with no expenses whatsoever be paid?

so are you of the mind that someone single doing the same job as a married person with children should be paid less?

I'm saying that all the wailing about a "living wage", which is usually the next complaint, means far different things to different people. Now, if you can show that a 15-year-old with two months on the job is doing the SAME job as a 30 year-old with 10 years on that job, he/she should be paid the same. If, however, he is on the bottom rung of the ladder with no experience and barely knows which end of the broom to hold onto, no.

You are, I'm not. No one is going to force any teenager to work a job, much less do hard manual labor. That's just something some hysteric made up.

juveniles in detention will not have a choice... neither will people living below the poverty line after food stamps are cut.

That makes it better?

In what world?

So some creep wants his kid to work the overnight shift and all he has to do is claim he’s “home schooling@??

in the world where it is not inteferring with regular school hours.

Some creep? You mean the parents? LOL.

They want to use children. American children. Roll back child labor laws. I'm not making this up. MAGA.

MAJOR SHIFT 14-year-olds to pull overnight shifts as US state moves to roll back child labor laws & combat ‘dirt cheap’ migrant work

CHILDREN as young as 14 years old could be working overnight shifts under a new plan to roll back child labor laws. The proposal seeks to remove limits on how late teens can be at work and the number of hours they can clock each week.

Governor Ron DeSantis is backing a proposal to allow 14-year-olds to work overnight shifts. The bill would remove restrictions for 14- and 15-year-olds who are home-schooled or attend virtual school. In Florida, 16- and 17-year-olds are currently prohibited from working before 6:30 am and after 11 pm on school days. They are also barred from working more than 30 hours a week during the school year.

A new proposal would remove all of those restrictions - including the requirement that teens get a meal break, the Miami Herald reported.

Governor Ron DeSantis supports the measure and argues it’s a way to address what he calls "dirt cheap" labor from illegal immigrants.
Yes, the children though will get full transgender operations and medicine for free as a right.

duh.

OR, kid works late, sleeps in late, gets up with plenty of sleep, takes his online classes in afternoon and does fine.

Your assumption that parents don't look out for their kids interests is... dumb.

rural areas don't have complete or reliable access to the internet.

some parents won't have a choice now anyways with donny's cuts to their health.

rural areas don't have complete or reliable access to the internet.

Thats for the tip. That would be relevant if my point was focused solely on rural children, or if online classes were the only alternative to covered by the new law.

As neither of those are true, your point is irrelevant.

And that is even more irrelevant and off topic than your last "point".

Most of thr jobs vacated need not being filled nor fine. It's unbelievably easy to find adults to do the jobs for a higher wage as it should be.

So now you could be? What a mistake to keep young people out of entry level jobs. So at heart you are old school; why then do you oppose De Santis on this?

Greg
The state's legislature on Tuesday advanced a bill that would loosen child labor laws, allowing children as young as 14 years old to work overnight shifts. If the new law is passed, teenagers would be able to work overnight jobs on school days.

WTF?

I never had to do that.

You know what you should do, Mac? Get all fluffed up over a "proposal".

Don't you hate it when others do that, because it just feeds the "divide" or whatever you blather on about over and over?
