Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis To Sign Bill Banning Social Media ‘Deplatforming’

The Reich used their government power to force the industry to serve them.

Just as Republicans are doing here.

It wasn’t cooperation, it was coercion.

Not really, the Reich before yours used special laws to support concerns that were beneficial to the Reich while stuffing the boards of directors with Reich members.

Just as your Reich does now.
There’s no special laws. Section 230 (which you thought was written in the 30s) protects all websites equally. Twitter and Facebook are popular on their merits.

The special laws are being written by Republicans to force industry to help maintain their power. That’s fascism for you.

Except FB allows use of their private property under conditions agreed to by their users. There is no “public” there.

Thanks to an act of congress Facebook is immune from lawsuits based on what appears on their website

We should repeal that law

Explain how that is going to promote freedom of expression on the internet.

Sure. We should repeal all kinds of laws propping up business. But in this case, it wouldn't change much. Few more lawsuits maybe. But in the end the lawyers would massage the terms of service, the courts would establish precedent and things would be pretty much the same as they are now.

What do you think would happen if 230 were repealed?

So you don’t want to fix the problem, you’re just out for political revenge.
You can spin it however you like

The standard lib excuse is that they are a private company and can do as they please

If you’d care to improve on that response somehow and offer a solution lets hear it

I don’t have a solution, but at least I don’t want government to punish private companies for failing to help Republicans.

You know, because I’m not a fascist.

I suggest you use a social media platform with less restrictions. Plenty of those out there.
