Federal employees take an oath to the Constitution, not to a President.
If they are convinced that an order -- even from a President -- is unconstitutional, they might choose to refuse it.
If they refuse it in error, it will be at their legal peril, and they will pay the legal price after due process.
That's how it works, Trumpsters. Your God King™ is not above our Constitution. Their Oath is to
IT, not
HIM.
And you know it. Or maybe you don't. Maybe you're just flagrantly ignorant. I really don't know any more.
Why do public servants take an oath of office? The reason is simple – public servants are just that – servants of the people.

"One thing that federal workers often hear is a career supervisor or political appointee talking about loyalty to the agency or the boss. One purpose of the Oath of Office is to remind federal workers that they do not swear allegiance to a supervisor, an agency, a political appointee, or even to the President. The oath is to support and defend the U.S. Constitution and faithfully execute your duties. The intent is to protect the public from a government that might fall victim to political whims and to provide a North Star – the Constitution – as a source of direction."
