Yes, and they’re not getting as good an education as they would otherwise in schools with lots of illegal aliens. In my old high school, which HAD been largely upper-middle class 50 years ago, more than half don’t speak English, 70% are on free lunch, and only 13% scored proficient on the state-wide math test.
Get rid of the illegals bringing down the caliber of the schools, and American children will get a better education.
Mom graduated from my High School as the first class to attend all four years, Class of 1959. They just had their 66th reunion. Every living class member attended. All white, and back in the day, probably all upper-middle class, mostly dairy farmers back in the day. I was class of 1980. Place still mostly white, some HIspanics were moving in, was quickly becoming a more working class school and not a tractor school of farm kids.
But when my sons attended, in the 2010's it had become one of the most diverse schools in the area, maybe even the state. Sure, there were Bentley's in the parking lot, two country clubs in the district. But the southwestern portion, still very rural, field crops, hard work. My sons told me there were no fewer than five languages spoken in the lunchroom. This area has a large refugee population. Hmong, Romanian, Cambodian. Then of course, there are the farm workers, actually, more from Central America than Mexico, and many from South America.
My oldest son, I am very proud of him. He had a big week last week. Boeing got the sixth generation fighter contract. He travels all over the world. Works with Oxford, a project lead at MIT, he juggles multiple high level projects. Spent last week "mapping" the dams on the Colorado River. The thing is, wherever he goes, he runs into other people that went to that tiny little ass 2A high school in the middle of nowhere.
