If Cohen broke the law, he should be punished.

Of course it isn’t - Trump was his co-conspirator on some of these charges and is no less guilty than Cohen, he just happens to be a “not above the law” POTUS.

This could mean really bad things are ahead for Trump. Or it could mean that since Cohen is going to do some real time here, that he didn't have a deal to cut with the prosecutors.
I'm thinking it's more the latter.

The fact they want Comey to do "substantial time" tells me he didn't squeal on Trump substantially. Otherwise, he would have made a deal for a short sentence if he squealed.

Or he had nothing to squeal.

That is a possibility as well!
