Teachers are required to get Master's degrees to understand behavior issues.

It doesn't take a Master's degree to teach a kid how to finger-paint.

I'm not looking for someone to blame, I'm looking for teachers to known they don't have the right to take these kinds of liberties with other people's kids.

And no, not all states require a masters degree, and I've never heard of someone needing to get a master to understand behavioral issues.. and a masters in English or chemistry doesn't make you understand behavioral issues.

My niece had to do that. And at the end of the whole process, the best job she could get was teaching social studies in grades 5-8 (She wanted to teach High School) in a Catholic school.

If a teacher suspected child abuse, we would expect them to do something or say something. That is, in fact, a large part of their training.

Not all states require masters degrees. Also, in order to understand behavioral issues, that would require education in psychology. A masters of education degree doesn't teach psychology, as far as I'm aware.

If a teacher suspects child abuse, they should discuss it with the proper authority, but where is that a "large part of theor training"?


Even then, this isn't what we are talking about. We are talking about teachers taking it upon themselves to diagnose, nurture and even facilitate alter gender practices in their classrooms. That's not their place. Teachers are not psycologists, they are not trained to diagnose behavioral issues.
