Federal Judge Greenlights Lawsuit Against California for Hiding Child Gender Transitions from Parents

Then why isn't every kid in that class "Trans"?

The problem is too many people on the right would rather have a dead son than a live daughter.

LOL that trope?

More and more we are seeing that letting these kids go through with this doesn't do squat to make them better.

In the end, you can't give them what they supposedly want, just a pathetic copy of it.

No, it makes them autistic and gender dysphoria is the trendy add on that 20 years from now will be looked back in horror on.

Sorry, but people don't have the right to have you participate in their fetish like it's some protected class.

Why do I get the feeling you'd have been one of those people who screamed in horror when Rosa Parks sat at the front of the bus?

I wasn't alive during that, and sorry, but trying to equate this with racial discrimination isn't gonna fly with me.

Segregation was unconstitutional. There is no constitutional right to have society play along with your fetish.

Except, again, GA care in minors is rare.

A 2024 study led by researchers at Harvard Chan School and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute documented the rarity of gender-affirming surgeries among adolescents. But little is known about hormone use among transgender and gender-diverse adolescents. The researchers analyzed private insurance claims data from 2018 to 2022, representing more than 5.1 million young patients ages 8 to 17. They identified transgender or gender-diverse patients based on a gender-related diagnosis and then checked if they received puberty blockers or gender-affirming hormones. They then calculated the rate of adolescents who are TGD and receiving this care per 100,000 privately insured adolescents according to age and sex assigned at birth.

The study found that less than 0.1 percent of minors with private insurance are TGD and received puberty blockers or gender-affirming hormone treatment. No TGD patients under age 12 were prescribed gender-affirming hormones. Use of puberty blockers and gender-affirming hormones was more common among TGD adolescents assigned female sex at birth than those assigned male sex at birth.

It shouldn't be a thing at all. And of course you use the blanket term "gender affirming care" which covers everything from cross dressing to drugging and mutilation.

"assigned female at birth", "assigned male at birth", gender affirming care, birthing person.

Typical progressive rape of the English language.

Segregation was constitutional until it wasn't.

You are on the wrong side of history, bub.

Plessey was a terrible decision. Segregation was never Constitutional, it was allowed by a terrible court. It's up there with Roe and Chevron as the worst SC decisions that impacted the modern US.

It seems the battle lines are being drawn between the rights of kids and the rights of parents.

SACRAMENTO—Following outcry from LGBTQ+ students and families whose local districts enacted “forced outing” policies over the past year, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond today celebrated the signage of AB 1955: Support Academic Futures and Educators for Today’s Youth Act (SAFETY Act) into law by Governor Newsom.

The signing of AB 1955, the SAFETY Act, comes nearly one year to the date after Superintendent Thurmond was forcibly removed from a school board meetingExternal link opens in new window or tab. after speaking during public comment to oppose a proposed forced outing policy that LGBTQ+ students and families had said would threaten students’ safety at school and at home.

Thurmond supported AB 1955 to ensure all students have access to safe and supportive learning environments regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. The SAFETY Act was introduced by Assemblymember Chris WardExternal link opens in new window or tab. (D-San Diego) and co-authored by State Senator Susan Talamantes EggmanExternal link opens in new window or tab., Vice-Chair and Chair of the California Legislative LGBTQ+ Caucus, along with co-authors and Assembly Members Al MuratsuchiExternal link opens in new window or tab., Sabrina CervantesExternal link opens in new window or tab., Corey JacksonExternal link opens in new window or tab., Alex LeeExternal link opens in new window or tab., Evan LowExternal link opens in new window or tab., and Rick Chavez ZburExternal link opens in new window or tab., and State Senators Toni AtkinsExternal link opens in new window or tab., John LairdExternal link opens in new window or tab., Caroline MenjivarExternal link opens in new window or tab., Susan RubioExternal link opens in new window or tab., Scott WienerExternal link opens in new window or tab. and Steve PadillaExternal link opens in new window or tab.. Superintendent Thurmond supported the bill as part of efforts to push back against extremist attacks on the privacy rights of LGBTQ +students.

The SAFETY Act prohibits and invalidates any adopted school board policy, rule, or administrative regulation that requires forced outings. The SAFETY Act does not limit students’ and parents’ ability to discuss gender identities within their own families in the manner that they choose. The Act states that a school employee shall not be required to disclose any information related to a pupil’s LGBTQ+ identity to any other person without the pupil’s consent unless otherwise required by state or federal law. The Act does not limit a parent’s ability to request school records.

Methinks you'll find other countries have an entirely different approach towards drugging and/or sexually altering minors Joe

which has nothing to do whatsoever with trying to hide it all behind discrimination.....~S~

Nope, they all have pretty clear definitions, just not definitions you like because of your own insecurities.

Roe was a realistic ruling, because women were going to have abortions no matter what the law was. It was actually the logical extension of Griswald overturning contraception laws. Absolutely no one sane thinks we should reverse Griswald. (Well, at least not yet.... you guys have engaged in all sorts of crazy we never thought was possible 10 years ago.)

The court just didn't count on the Evangelicals seizing on abortion as an issue after segregation wasn't playing well anymore.

And, yes, only you can cheer big corporations raping the environment!

Made up definitions, brought to us by pseudo-science more social than medical.

Roe was an end run that failed, it didn't solve the issue, it just delayed the solution by 4 decades.

Actually right now progressive policy is raping the environment out in Cali. no water infrastructure built in decades, lack of clear proscribe burning and brush clearings, DEI over competence.

Stalinberg is down with child mutilation too??????
Shocking. 😐

This isn't forced outings, it's involving parents in their children's medical decisions.

Okay, so here's a scenario.

Little Timmy thinks he's Little Sally. The minute he gets to school, she changes clothes into a dress, and changes back to boy's clothes before she gets home.

In your world, you think the teacher should report that the parents.

Should they report to the parents that their kid is talking about shooting people?

Any policy, decision , or directive for a child in public ed should include the parent

Political agenda should be banned from the classroom

ATLANTA — A candlelight vigil was held Monday night for a transgender woman who police say was killed by her own father.

Dozens of people showed up to honor Kathryn Newhouse, 19, in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park.

Now, Newhouse’s friends are using her tragedy to spread awareness about the threat the trans community is facing.

“She was like a little sister to me. She was a real sweetheart,” Journey Jennings said.

Police say Newhouse, an Asian American transgender woman, was killed by her father inside their family home last month.

Investigators say her father shot and killed her before turning the gun on himself.

“I would’ve never imagined something like this happening to her,” Jennings said.
if a child is cross dressing at school the parents should absolutely be notified you big gov rules all CCP Marxist ! and taking an unfortunate event and crime to use as an excuse to rest parental rights away is despicable ! chairman Mao would be so so proud of you ..TRAITOR !

A few years ago, several California school districts began hiding children's gender transitions from their parents, with the state government's blessing, a gross violation of parental rights and common sense. Parents have filed a lawsuit over this policy, and now a federal judge has rejected the state's attempt to get the lawsuit dismissed.

In contrast, the great state of Ohio recently enacted a law that makes it illegal for teachers to hide children's gender transitions from their parents.

What kind of a sick, immoral mindset would lead anyone to believe that parents should not be informed if their child is starting to think, and/or be persuaded by peers and teachers and "counselors," that they are a different gender?

In Orwellian, Nazi-style verbiage, liberals refer to this as part of "gender affirming care," when it is actually gender denying care. It is denying biological reality and science.

Just two weeks ago, famed atheist and evolutionary scientist Richard Dawkins resigned from an atheist foundation because it censored an article that stated the scientific fact that gender is tied to biology. The article, titled "Biology Is Not Bigotry," was a rebuttal to a pro-transgender editorial. But LGBTQ rights activists complained about the rebuttal article, and the foundation pulled it.

In his resignation letter to the foundation, Dawkins called the removal of the piece "an act of unseemly panic" and accused the foundation of having "caved in to hysterical squeals from predictable quarters and retrospectively censored that excellent rebuttal."

I know this has been asked before, but it bears repeating. If genitals don't define gender, then why does mutilating genitals affirm gender?

Honestly, this sounds more like your hangup than theirs.

I agree that gender dysphoria often has a lot of co-morbidities. For instance, there's a high prevalence of autism among the transgendered.

That doesn't make them wrong, just different.
It also means we need to find actual treatments for the condition instead of mutilating bodies, causing sterility, etc., and thinking we helped. The very high suicide rates in the trans community seem to be ignored in the rush to mess with the bodies of confused children, and before you go off into a rant about how they are mistreated, let me remind you that there were millions of Africans treated much worse for a very long time in America, without correspondingly high suicide rates.

Obviously mental illness ran in that family. A tragedy, but no argument for hiding things from parents.

Great news. The insanity must stop. I hope they win trillions.
