The FDA decided to ignore the law, science, and its own policies, and ban cheeses that are really good. The liberals are finally seeing the dangers of big government.

The latest ruling on cheesemaking literally stinks, and most Americans aren't going to be happy about it.
As most of us are focused on the fight against processed foods, the Food and Drug Administration appears to be fighting for processed foods -- at least as far as cheese goes.
Hundreds of small business owners and artisanal cheesemakers were left aghast at a landmark executive decree from the FDA, which would ban the traditional method of aging cheese on wooden boards. Most cheese that isn't manufactured is aged by placing it on wooden boards, a centuries-old practice with relatively few documented health conflicts or concerns. However, the FDA, after citing numerous code violations (and yet a lack of any scientific research) has decided to forgo its usual comment-rule making process, instead issuing this statement:
“The porous structure of wood enables it to absorb and retain bacteria, therefore bacteria generally colonize not only the surface but also the inside layers of wood. The shelves or boards used for aging make direct contact with finished products; hence they could be a potential source of pathogenic microorganisms in the finished products.”

Here's Why The FDA's New Cheesemaking Ban Is Terrible News For Artisans

Lol @ conservatives giving a **** about artisans. Are we living the end of days?

I like cheese, I hate government, seems perfectly natural to me to comment on this.

I also notice you couldn't actually defend the FDA.

I think it's a safe bet that this rule will be tossed out pretty quickly, if it really has the effect that Huffpo is claiming.

I like cheese too. This does not bode well for my opinion of the FDA.

Seriously??

Which part? The part where conservatives have nothing to do with it? Or the part where the people who are supposed to be experts on food don't know that cheese is bacteria?

you can't make this up, put it in print and sell it for a loss.

no one would have ever thought that milk and cheese would be against the law

***** sake libs, take a look at what you have done and remember; we ******* told you so.

You want to hear something really funny? The FDA continues to go against science, fact and common sense by refusing to admit that Cannabis Sativa has medicinal value, even when the National Institutes of Health has a ton of information on its website about marijuana's medicinal value.

Right-wing American Taliban Republican Teabaggers love the FDA for denying poor, sick people a safe, natural, FREE medicine. Why is it that Republican Talibaggers don't have a problem with the 40-yo failure called the war on drugs? A war, remember, that was started by Nixon after his own special committee on marijuana told him to legalize it.
