FBI Director Christopher Wray preparing to resign

You're missing the point, Wray will be taken out since he'll either resign or be fired, however if you go after him criminally everybody in Washington is potentially exposed by what Wray knows and will thus fight tooth and nail to keep him from being deposed.
I hope so, time to end corruption. Am I to take you are for corruption in DC?

Why should it bother me exactly? I want corruption punished.
Politicians and the assorted miscreants in Washington don't know what Wray knows about them and thus what he might reveal pursuant to a criminal case against him. He has what is commonly referred to as "leverage".

IMHO the last thing President Trump needs to do is throw a monkey wrench into his own agenda. He should accept Wray's resignation or fire him and then wave goodbye to him.
Except, it's what he ran on, why would he not live up to his campaign promise? People voted for that action.

The President does not have power to "fire" the director of the FBI. Remember that guy J. Edgar Hoover? More than one President would have liked to fire that bastard.

FBI Directors are nominated and confirmed for a ten-year term, SPECIFICALLY so that their tenure will not be impacted by politics.

All a President can do is make life uncomfortable for the Director, and in today's climate, being hated by President Trump would make him a virtual Folk Hero in the DC Swamp.

Huh, TRUMP fired Comey. What prevented TRUMP from firing Rosenstein, Wray, and Barr was obstruction of justice/threat of impeachment. My understanding is the SCOTUS ruling over the summer clarified the president has the authority to fire people in his administration for whatever reason.

What gave you that impression? Honestly if I had my way the entire city would be deported to Mars.

The worst punishment for corrupt bureaucrats like Wray is exile from the halls of power.
Except, it's what he ran on, why would he not live up to his campaign promise? People voted for that action.
The problem is, prosecuting Wray has a high probability of getting in the way of those campaign promises for the reasons I've already highlighted, President Trump needs the cooperation of some people in Washington (particularly Congress Critters of his own party) to fulfill them, he can't do it by himself and thus cannot afford to alienate large swaths of the town.

Unfortunately, Wray's position as the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation makes him a singularly risky person to target with a criminal investigation.

Seriously does anyone pay attention to how deep the corruption is government is? The more you know only puts a bigger target on your head.

Always fun to ask, what you want to prosecute him for, then the inevitable - thats not a real crime- and then the inevitable blah blah blah. You can fire Wray. You cannot prosecute Wray for doing his job and investigating Orange Jesus, especially when Orange Jesus would be in trial now had he not won.

Corruption is an inseparable attribute of government (we are not governed by Angels), always has been. It's one of the reasons the founders designed our system of government with the decentralization of power in mind. Unfortunately, government worshippers have worked long and hard to centralize power in Washington D.C., not understanding or not caring that they were concentrating the corruption along with that power.

IMHO the only way to combat corruption effectively is to devolve the power away from the center, either that or replace it with a new system.

"An elective despotism was not the government we fought for, but one which should not only be founded on true free principles, but in which the powers of government should be so divided and balanced among general bodies of magistracy, as that no one could transcend their legal limits without being effectually checked and restrained by the others." -- Thomas Jefferson

then why do you care? That doesn't stand the logic test.

Disagree, people should be deferred from ever doing what he did ever again, and he ought to get his fair share of comeupins.
The problem is, prosecuting Wray has a high probability of getting in the way of those campaign promises
It was a promise, so there's that. Avoiding it would be not doing what he campaigned on. Stop already,

Again, why do you care? What is it you personally are afraid of? It seems to be very personal for you.

I care because I want to see the new administration SUCCEED not get embroiled in a counterproductive political shitstorm that will suck all the energy and political capital out of the administration.

why would the administration get sucked into anything. There are departments for that, that's automatically delegated, Trump we need drill baby drill and deport illegals is really the top 2 things to accomplish. And it must be in the first year.

I already told you why.

Maybe he should be put on a suicide watch (like Epstein).

This is a serious setback for the Deep State

Wray could be very useful as FBI director in blocking the trump agenda

Now their first line of defense will be breached

Naw, Wray will likely end up with a cushy "contributor" job in the far-left media circuit along with a book deal -- "Donald Trump grabbed me by the pussy and made me cry", should be a real page turner.

Interesting. This saves Trump the trouble of firing him. He shouldn't move too far from DC court houses for a few years.

I think every person in a position of authority in government should resign with a new incoming administration. That way the President and/or new Cabinet Secretaries can accept or reject those resignations, but it makes it much easier to put your own people in place.

I like the way you think, and I have just the means to accomplish it;

"We're moving your offices to the North Shore of Alaska, and we expect you to be in the office 5 days a week, we recommend you buy a reliable off-road vehicle." :)

I don't agree with you, you're the one chasing me.
You have every right to disagree, I take no umbrage with that.

However, if you define discussing the subject of the thread with You as "chasing" You, well then, that's a perspective I have never encountered until now.

I leave you to your own devices, Ciao.
