Seems a bit "nosy" to me. Sex is something that remains behind closed doors for a REASON. We don't want to think or talk about MOST people having sex because it can just be kind of yucky. I don't want to know nor do I care what my 50-something-year-old neighbors are doing in the bedroom.

Why is THIS topic important but the topic of obesity killing Americans is not?

It doesn't "bother" me. I'm just wondering why people would care what some strangers on the internet do in their bedroom and why some are so eager to share. Why should anyone care? Is it a turn-on for some people? What is it?

Think sex is the very best thing a person can do alone or with another. Think people do in fact want to be able to talk about it like they do other recreational activities but society still has a stick up its butt about it. So the only way to convince people they can freely discuss it is to intiate such discussions. People who flame and protest are nonetheless reading those discussions. So I'm ok with it. Really for them anyway.

Well, I think a lot of that stems from a lot of people just do NOT want to know about it. I mean come on! Some stuff is just gross. I find most pornography to be pretty disgusting, TBH. A lot of it is just about humiliating the women. Granted, I'm no expert on that subject but some of the ones I've seen were pretty nasty.

That's what most of it is. It is about humiliating the women, IMO. I think the "men" who make these don't really have any respect for women at all. In fact, I think a lot of them would get off on things like women being tortured. There are a lot of SICK people in this world.

Well, though I've heard that too, I think it's actually wrong. Can become arroused, erect, and orgasm in our sleep absent any conscious desire. Can become erect when being raped. Doesn't mean you were turned on though, it's just the physiological response. Can become arroused when breastfeeding too. Sex works just fine without conscious will and thought.

.... I just read an article from Washington Post Magazine...it was from a few weeks ago (Oct 18) anyway, I found this interesting (the article is about a new "Pink" pill - basically something along the lines of female Viagra...)

Meredith Chivers a sex researchers at Queen's University in Ontario Canada studies human sex drives in her lab.
She found that although heterosexual women claimed to be aroused by the videos of men with women, that, the instruments measuring heart rate, blood flow etc. showed they were aroused by ALL videos.... men with men, women with women and even animals mating....

The article didn't mention if this was the same for straight men as well......

Phallometric studies have their detractors including myself. As someone whose grown up with porn and absent all the sexual guilt, it takes a lot to get me arroused. So I would score quite low as to imagery that would arrouse people with less comfort or experience. So the value of such testing is very dubious. Still happy to use it to embarass homophobes though as with phallometric testing shows those who id as homophobes are the most arroused by gay porn.

I think most porn is pretty much about humiliation. Although I don't want to "ban" it, I do think it has some effects on the very YOUNG men who are viewing it regularly on their computers. It creates an environment where women are viewed as "objects" and not human beings. I think these young men are disappointed when they find out that most women are more than just sex toys, they say more than "oh yeah, do me harder." Lol. Women actually think, have personalities and feelings too!

Absolutely. Is having sex, which I've concluded is usually better to just masturbate if you're simply horny and approaching sex as a means to an end, and is making love which is more about giving pleasure to your partner, who, in a perfect world is on the same page so it's mutually rewarding.

I don't advocate casual sex. Instead I suggest masturbation. But if you're in a mutually loving relationship I do advocate going at it like bunnies with a hormone imbalance.

Do you honestly believe those women aren't fucked up? Good grief. I'm sorry but there is such a thing as respecting yourself and your body, having integrity and standards. Those things are all important parts of living in a "civilized" society together. These women obviously have no respect for their bodies or themselves. The people who are watching them do sex acts in pornos don't care about them one way or the other. They serve one purpose and one purpose only to the viewers and are quite dehumanized in most porn.
