Favorite Candy Bar, or Candy

black licorice is pure sex

My mother used to tell me stories about when licorice, the black kind, was the only candy around. I told her if that was the case I would have never eaten candy at all. I don't even like the smell of anice.

You have to indulge every now and again, it's good for the soul :D

Besides your going to want some of my Avalanche Bark that I make....

Description:
Peanut Butter Crisp aka Avalanche Bark that you can buy at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory

Serves/Makes:2 4"x4" hunks

Ingredients
1/4 cup (60 ml) creamy peanut butter
1-3/4 cups (425 ml) white chocolate chips
1 cup (225 ml) Rice Crispies cereal
1/2 cup (125 ml) (slightly packed) mini marshmallows
1/4 cup (60 ml) semi-sweet chocolate chips (frozen)
Preparation
In double boiler (or metal bowl over a sauce pan filled
1/4 about full of water) over medium-high heat, add
white chocolate chips and peanut butter. Constantly stir with wire wisk until completely melted. Remove from heat (and remove off bottom boiling water). Set aside and let cool for about 5 minutes
Transfer mixture to a mixing bowl. Fold in all of the rice crispies. Let cool till it barely feels warm (if you add the marshmallows and semi-sweet chocolate chips when it's too warm, they will melt and that's not what you want). It will take a while to cool, but do not cool it down in the refridgerator or it will set up.
While you wait, line a 4"x8.5" loaf pan with plastic wrap. You may even want to lightly spray the plastic with cooking spray first for easier removal.
When the mixture is cooled, fold in marshmallows first then the semi-sweet chips (just fold to distribute, don't over work the mixture).
Pour the mixture into the prepared pan, fold the excess plastic wrap over top and gently press the mixture so it's even in the pan. The harder you press, the denser the bark will be.
Now it's time to put in the fridge to set it up. It will take about 20 to 30 minutes to completely set up.
When set, remove from pan and cut into desired size pieces.

Definitely worth making!!!!

I hate you for that...you're trying to fatten me up, B.

Hershey chocolate bar with almonds

"Baci" -- an Italian chocolate filled with hazelnuts

I like chocolate.

As such, there was (maybe is, but I can't find it anymore) this limited edition Hershey bar in the impulse buy section of the grocery store.

It was your basic milk chocolate hershey bar, but each segment was large and full of a creamy syrupy dark chocolate filling.

I think that was the greatest candy bar I ever had. I ate like two pieces of it and had to sit down and cool off.

Mmmmm, chocolate. Almost as good as, mmmmmm, beer.

I'd like to try that new butterfinger wafer bar thingy.

Oh, and there's this candy called Razzles.

It starts as hard candy until you start chewing on it, at which point it kind of crumbles to pieces, then recoagulates into a gum.

Under the influence of certain perception altering substances this is one of the most memorable candies I've tried in my life. Of course, perhaps it was the perception altering substance....I wouldn't rule it out.

My mother has me searching on the net for two candies she can't find anymore one is called sugar cremes which is like a pure sugary candy or wafer that has granulated sugar coatings and the inside is soft creamy type sugar texture, and she used to buy them at Easter in pink, white and yellow.....One bite and I would be in a sugar coma I think

The other was called spoon candy which was a sugar type candy that came in a tiny round tin andyou scooped it out with a tiny plastic spoon?? That one she ate as a kid.

You don't see too many people saying they like licorice. I can't eat Twizzlers, but black licorice is pretty gross.

I ate some black licorice and went into my acupuncturists office. One of their diagnostic tools is to look at the patients tongue. When she saw that black thing she recoiled. Probably looked like trouble to her. I told her I ate licorice. She said, "Oh yeah, I forgot westerners eat licorice for candy". Because in Asian phamacopeia it's a medicine.

Those sugar cremes were my mother's favorite candy, too. Haven't seen them in the candy aisle lately. We kids would always wash the sugar granules off before we ate them. Better that way. :)

So what a nuc? Does it rhyme with duck? :D

I see you got them to change your name...
