Favorite Boxing Films?

The Champ both versions.
Rocky movies the first were okay not great, Great acting by supporting players. I liked the music scores best. Watching Mr T emulate Joe Frazier was good in 3
Raging Bull A good gritty film about a real life fighter.
Million Dollar baby was Great .
The Champ both versions.
the first was better.

Beery and Cooper were a far better fit for the role than Voight and Schroder

Raging Bull and Rocky were both great films, between the two I liked Rocky a little better, the main character was more likeable.

As a person I did not like Lamotta in Raging Bull. He came across as an abusive monster, a wife beater, an alcoholic, a foul mouth jerk. I have a hard time respecting any bum who beats up his wife. The jerk deserved to be cheated on. I guess that is what is great about the film Raging Bull, it shows how some boxers in real life are angry abusive low life losers.

I also really liked Rocky III Eye Of The Tiger, it was so inspirational for many sport athletes.

Rigorous training for a career of inflicting and sustaining brain damage will draw people with those tendencies. Boxing is a shady sport.
