Every good manager has a criteria for an exit strategy for a persons employment, given various circumstances. And no doubt he's thought about getting rid of him.
As a contractor for the Federalis I was never fired, but every manager had a set of circumstances for letting me go, usually at the end of my contract, but not always. Many times they kept me longer than originally planned, and once, when working for the Department of inJustice, I completed my assigned tasks so they let me go early, lol, basterds. I worked myself out of a job, literally.
