Federal prosecutors have moved to drop all charges against a New York area man accused of involvement in the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, after an investigation determined he did not enter the Capitol building, officials said.
Christopher Kelly was arrested Jan. 21 in Rockland County, N.Y., on a federal criminal complaint charging him with felony obstruction of Congress, as well as misdemeanors including entering a Secret Service-restricted area and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

The charges against Kelly came after a confidential informant pointed the FBI to his Facebook account, which showed him posing on Capitol grounds during the Jan. 6 unrest. “We’re in,” Kelly declared in one post that the FBI said was from around the time the Capitol was breached. He also apparently posted a photo from inside the Capitol, the FBI said, although he was not in that shot.

Subsequent inquiries indicated that Kelly never actually entered the Capitol, according to a law enforcement official.

More than 450 defendants face federal court charges related to the storming of the Capitol by a crowd loyal to President Donald Trump as lawmakers were tallying electoral votes.
Comment:
Hmm...., A CI filed a false police report... no mention in the article about him being charged for that. Odd.
Kelly is just one of hundreds if not thousands of political prisoners being held for protesting.
“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.” ― Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn , The Gulag Archipelago 1918–1956
