Failures of the Red State Governors

DeathSantis can forgot about being potus.

I will never understand why DeSantis is doing this. Especially if he wants to be president.

Didn't he pay attention to what happened to trump when trump lied and allowed the virus to take hold in our nation resulting from over 600 thousand deaths?

DeSantis may be able to win primary but he will never win a nationwide general election.

He might be able to win statewide with the good old boys in Florida but the rest of the nation isn't Florida.

The problem is his selfishness and lies are killing people including children.

Each of those states have high Negro populations. The Negros are the ones that have the lowest percentages of unvaccinated.

DeSantis, Tate Reeves, Asa Hutchinson, Greg Abbott, Bill Lee...all failures.

Ige, Brown, Bel Edwards, Wolf, Cooper...... all failures

THE ISSUE BOILED DOWN TO THE SIMPLEST TERMS:

Masks are useless because Trump proclaimed Covid to be a fake virus.

Pearl River High School Quarantines 40% Of Students In First Week, District Going Virtual

An entire Mississippi school district is going virtual after Pearl River Central High School ordered 40% of its student body to quarantine after just one week of school. Classes began at the Carriere, Miss., school on Aug. 5 with no mask mandates. Since then, the high school has quarantined 394 members of its roughly 1,000-member student body.

“In person learning will be suspended for all students in the Pearl River County School District beginning on August 16 due to the increased spread of the COVID virus in our schools and community,” the Pearl River County School District Relaunch Plan, revised today, now says. “The suspension of in-person learning will go through August 27 or September 6.”

For the second time this week, the Pearl River County School Board is holding a meeting at 5:30 p.m. to decide how long virtual schooling will last. Board members punted on quarantine plans during the last emergency meeting on Monday, but did reinstate a mask mandate after starting classes without them.

Despite an all-time high of 4,412 new COVID-19 cases reported statewide today, Gov. Tate Reeves insisted in a tweet today that “there will be no lockdowns and there will be no statewide (mask) mandates”—despite warning from hospital leaders that the health care system is on the brink of “failure.” Despite mandating masks in schools statewide last year, the governor told WLOX’s Dave Elliot today that such decisions will be up to local leaders.

"PACKED HOUSE!! Freshman Orientation was such a GREAT event last night," the Pearl River County School District wrote in a Facebook post sharing this photo on July 31, 2021. Pearl River Central High School quarantined about 40% of its student body during the first week of classes, announcing that it would go all virtual on Aug. 12, 2021. Not a single mask in sight.

Ummmmmmmmmmm, Covid is surging in every state, including blue states. So apparently, blue states don't have an answer either.

Actually, there is a significant difference that those who substitute ideological dogma for empirical data don't like to honestly acknowledge:

While places with high vaccination rates differ from those with lower rates in many ways, such as poverty level and insurance status, there is a particularly striking divide between red states and blue states. Surveys show that Democrats are 59 percent more likely than Republicans to say they have been vaccinated, a larger gap than that by gender, race, education or even age. If you tried to predict whether a state voted for President Biden using only its vaccination rate, you would predict 90 percent of states correctly. As a result of this partisan gap, undervaccination has allowed nearly 12,000 preventable deaths in red states during July and August, more than double the 4,800 in blue states.
Another great benefit of vaccines is that they reduce infections. (Though vaccinated people can still become infected, they are substantially less likely to do so than unvaccinated people.) Reducing infections has enormous effects that build on themselves week after week: Each person gives the virus to fewer people, who give it to fewer people, and so on.

Vaccinated people spread the virus, which is why the most highly vaccinated countries on the planet are experiencing SURGING cases of Covid. In fact, since the vaccinated spread Covid just as much as the unvaccinated do, you can easily argue that the vaccinated are spreading it more than the unvaccinated because when you allow in tens of thousands of only vaccinated people to sports venues and not allow in the unvaccinated, the vaccinated wind up spreading it more than the unvaccinated.

Can you support your opinion (the most highly vaccinated countries on the planet are experiencing SURGING cases of Covid, the vaccinated spread Covid just as much as the unvaccinated do, the vaccinated are spreading it more than the unvaccinated) by citing any reliable empirical data in those regards from credible sources?

It really sounds like your blowing gas that comports with your ideological dogma. What legitimate studies do you reference?

Democrats and the lefty media don't really report this much because they don't want you to know

Yes, I've heard the ideological media paranoia. You can only trust what fits your agenda.

That's why you need to cherry-pick an article from the San Francisco Chronicle, apparently, one that does nothing to discredit vaccination.

Vaccinated Americans are far less apt to contract Covid. Thus, they are far less likely to transmit Covid. (and far less likely to be hospitalized and/or die due to Covid.) That is why rightist Governor Ivy is pleading with the good folks of Covid-ravaged Alabama to get vaccinated.
