Your assertion that socialism is "banned" in America either is a mistake or is wishful thinking. While the American Socialist Party changed its name to Social Democrats of America a few years ago its political philosophy remains the same and the party remains active.

You are one serious dipstick. You state percentages that pertain strictly to federal income taxes and then claim it as pertaining to "all taxes". What is it that you don't understand? You truly believe federal income taxes are the only taxes people pay? I am, in fact, self-employed. This is not about me, but about the best way to organize the economy.

That's because unlike the criminals on the left, the wealthy don't take, they earn.

Anyone who employs anyone else is only partly earning what he makes. A part of it -- a bigger part depending on how many employees he has -- is actually earned by the labor of others. That's how capitalism works, the entire basis of it: those who own the means of production make money off the labor of others, not just their own.

That's a misunderstanding on your part. I'm talking about maldistribution of wealth in the U.S., which is not only unfair but also harmful to the economy, because it reduces consumer demand, which causes the economy to underperform. The poverty line is just an illustration. If someone can work 50 hours a week and still be considered to be living in poverty, that dramatically illustrates just how fucked up our economic system has become.

Anyone willing to work 50 hours a week should be drawing down at least a middle-class income. The only people who should be poor are those who either can't or won't work. Hard work should be well rewarded. If it isn't -- and obviously that's the case -- our economic system is diseased.

And I notice you STILL haven't answered the question about how much of the national income is taken by those who are paying such a large share of the tax burden. Come on, complete the picture. Until you do, you haven't said anything at all.

I feel that's good advice. If you can't make your case without resorting to cheap shots and personal insults, that shows you don't have much of a case to make.
