The American people weren’t having it. Last weekend the Million Veteran March stormed the WWII and Lincoln memorials, removed the barricades, carried them all the way to the White House and dumped them in front of the President’s lawn. Some media outlets portrayed this event as a conservative tea-party rally. I was present and people all across the political spectrum participated in protesting the foolishness of locking 80 and 90-year-old men out of an open public space. I have never witnessed an event that made me feel so proud and humiliated at the same time. The most relevant quote comes from an anonymous author, who said,
