This is a great motion picture that meets the standard of greatness on almost every count. Running a fast 103 minutes, Executive Suite holds the viewer from the opening scene, building absorbingly to a smashing climax. It is drama at it's best, reminiscent of the movie 12 Angry Men but instead a jury room and courtroom, most the action is in a corporate boardroom or locations leading up the Board Meeting. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 100% and it won a number of awards. Robert Wise directed who also did West Side Story and Sound of Music with a script by Earnest Lehman who wrote the script for North by Northwest, Hello Dolly, Sabrina, The King and I, and Zorba the Greek.

The story is about the power struggle that ensues when the president of a large corporation suddenly dies. Avery Bullard, President of the Tredway Corporation left no instructions as to who should take his place, and the board is having difficulties deciding who the job should go to. There is Loren Shaw, (Fredrick March) the corporate shark, Fred Anderson, (Walter Pigeon) vice president and close friend of Bullard but destant to always be number 2, Water Dudley, (Paul Douglas) the backslapping Vice President of Sales who can never make a decision, George Caswell, (Louis Calhern) a board member that is only interested in his own personal gains, Jesse Grimm, (Dean Jagger) vice president for Manufacturing on the eve of his retirement, and Julia Tredway, (Barbara Stanwyck) heir to the founder and wife of Bullard, and Don Walling, (William Holden) vice president for Design and Development.

The movie is available for streaming on Amazon Prime and AppleTV, and VUDU
