-Someone who was just born within the confines of the American borders/territories?

-Someone who was born here from several generations that were born here?

-Someone who took the oath to become an American and protect the true American dream and way of life?

-Someone who came here to TRULY escape a country of filth and degredation, to become the American dream themselves?

My Japanese in-laws -- he was born there and she was born here -- were among the most American Americans I ever knew, even after being heinously screwed by the American culture after Pearl Harbor.

I started kindergarten in 1945, and immediately befriended a Japanese American kid. He and his Japanese American parents were as American as apple pie. We were best friends for years until his family moved away. He was a gifted cartoonist and would draw elaborate battle scenes between American and Japanese soldiers, with Americans kicking butt.

Well, ya gotta break some eggs, and all that. For example, I'm covering a poorly developed lawn with black plastic to kill it and start over. We bought some bad topsoil and have to do it over. It will look terrible for a while, but the end result will be great.
