According to media reports, when that person was an FBI agent he spent time investigating alleged Trump ties to Russia. Via the New York Post:

A former top FBI agent in New York who investigated the Trump campaign’s alleged ties to Russia in 2016 has been charged with money laundering and violating US sanctions for trying to help Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska evade the penalties, the Justice Department said on Monday.

Charles McGonigal, the former FBI special agent in charge of counterintelligence in the New York Field Office, was arrested on Saturday along with Sergey Shestakov, a court interpreter who also worked for Deripaska.

How deeply is the FBI compromised by Russia? Is this an isolated incident, or part of a systemic infiltration into the federal law enforcement apparatus by Russian assets? We need a very thorough investigation of the FBI and the DOJ to determine how deep the rot is.

The FBI’s reputation problems have accelerated with the arrest on corruption charges of Charles McGonigal, the former chief of counterintelligence for the FBI’s New York field office, one of the most powerful spy-hunters in the country - who also happened to be connected to Hunter Biden.
In twin indictments last month, McGonigal was charged with taking secret cash payments from a former Albanian intelligence officer, holding secret meetings with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, and attempting to remove top Kremlin oligarch Oleg Deripaska from a US sanctions list.
The Albanians cited by prosecutors tie this scandal to Hunter Biden and the Chinese energy company CEFC that paid him and uncle Jim millions of dollars in a deal which Joe Biden was slated to join after his vice presidency ended.
According to prosecutors, McGonigal received $225,000 in cash in the fall of 2017 while he was the FBI’s counterintelligence chief in New York, from an Albanian former intelligence official, identified in the Albanian and European media as Agron Neza.
In turn, Neza introduced McGonigal to another well-connected Albanian, Dorian Ducka, who was an adviser to Rama and also worked for CEFC.
A photograph published last month in Albanian media sourced from China Daily in May 2017 shows Ducka standing with CEFC chairman Ye Jianming, who famously gave Hunter a 3.16-carat diamond estimated to be worth $80,000 in February 2017.
Ye also put Hunter on a $1 million legal retainer in mid-2017, which ultimately was paid to assist CEFC colleague Patrick Ho after his arrest.
Someone with the same unusual first name as Ducka appears in Hunter’s abandoned laptop in an email discussion about CEFC between Hunter and associates James Gilliar and Rob Walker.

A tenuous link also exists between Hunter and McGonigal in their personal lives, as their names appear together as recipients of 29 lacrosse-match emails referring to their then-teenage daughters from a posh DC school attended by Hunter’s children, at the time when McGonigal was working at the FBI Washington field office. There is no evidence they met at that time.

McGonigal, a protégé of former FBI chief James Comey, also was involved in the bogus FBI investigation into Trump-Russia collusion, as section chief of the Cyber-Counterintelligence Coordination Section at the FBI DC field office. He reportedly was instrumental in opening the original Crossfire Hurricane probe.
After he moved to New York one month before the 2016 election, McGonigal also reportedly was involved in the fraudulent surveillance warrants on Trump campaign aide Carter Page.
While both GOP and Dem lawmakers are trying to spin the McGonigal scandal in their own political favor, there is nothing FBI Director Chris Wray can do to restore the public’s faith in his tattered agency.

The Comey led FBI included in the bribery? Could explain a few things. Has anyone asked Hunter about any of this?
It appears tat the FBI is looking for a soft landing... just like everyone else...Maybe if they burn this guy they can keep the façade going. We will know we have justice when they come clean on stealing the votes of the mothers and fathers whose children were killed in wars in the last 40 years.
No one with any authority to correct the situation or prosecute the criminals in the WH or at nearly every level below that is doing anything. Most of the media ignores all the worst things happening around and in American government. From starting wars to surrendering everywhere, to wiping out our food supplies, to poisoning our bodies in a 100 different ways. There are so few people of conscience and morality remaining that all of it will soon overwhelm our ability to survive as a country, as an economy, as a people.

A newly uncovered calendar notation on the Biden Laptop indicates Hunter Biden joined his business partner Devon Archer in a meeting with his father in then Vice President Joe Biden’s West Wing office on April 16th, 2014, something the Bidens and Archers have always denied.
And while there’s a special counsel looking into Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified documents, this meeting constitutes malfeasance in office, an impeachable offense.
Here’s a screenshot of the calendar I viewed after my friends at Marco Polo exported Hunter Biden’s daily calendar from the Laptop to me. The notation is “Meet Devon and Luke at WH” at 11:15 a.m. RHB is short for Robert Hunter Biden. According to White House visitor logs, the Archers entered the White House at 11:18 a.m. — right on time. This is a document that Hunter Biden controlled and managed, and it’s from a Laptop that he now admits is his.

As this calendar and email prove, it was clearly Devon and Hunter’s intention to have Joe informed almost minute by minute of their progress with getting appointed to the Burisma board.
Other Laptop emails indicate Hunter and Devon already had the paperwork from Burisma when they met Joe, but had not yet nailed down the terms with Burisma board member Aleksander Kwasniewski, which is what they did the day after after they met with Joe.
But Joe Biden was more than a consultant. A close friend of Kwasniewski, the former president of Poland, Joe was clearly the architect of this deal. And a look at Hunter’s Laptop calendar for the week leading up to this meeting offers the proof.

TEN DAYS BEFORE his son Hunter accepted a lucrative board position with Ukrainian natural gas conglomerate Burisma Holdings on April 18, 2014, Joe Biden did the following:
— met over breakfast with Hunter Biden and his key operatives Ron Klain and Mike Donilon at his Naval Observatory residence.
Hunter was just then back from meeting with Burisma executive Vadim Pozharskyi in Lake Como, Italy. Joe was soon off to Ukraine to deliver energy assistance, something he’d been working on since Putin’s Russian irregulars had invaded Crimea a little more than a month earlier. Burisma had most of its business then at risk from further Russian advances. No doubt, Joe and the VP Team debriefed Hunter on what Burisma wanted so they could strategize how best to exploit that crisis.

— met in his West Wing office with Hunter, his business partner Devon Archer, who had already been surreptitiously been admitted to the Burisma board, and Archer’s young son Luke ​

— was photographed in his Ceremonial Office entertaining Devon and Luke Archer ​

— took a selfie in during a long private, conversation while seated next to Barack Obama in Obama’s limousine.​

Commentary:
For a drug addled derelict, his calendar is well organized and planned out with detail. (Likely an assistant organizing here, but something I would not have expected from RHB)
As each day goes by, real investigative journalists continue to uncover more and more evidence that Joe Biden is up to his neck in the Ukraine/Burisma conspiracy.
