Every single Senate Democrat just BLOCKED a GOP proposal requiring photo ID in nationwide elections

I support Voter ID done properly.

However the SAVE Act is not that vehicle, especially right before the mid-terms.

Most people think that REAL ID is a qualifying ID. But it's not, as 45 out of 50 States DO NOT have REAL ID's that indicate the citizenship of the holder. Yes you read that right, only 5 of 50 states have REAL ID's that comply with SAVE Act requirements.

BTW those 5 states are: Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Vermont, and Washington to factilitate cross border traffic with Canada.

This is why the Dems allowed the border to be open.

Mayorkas said it was secure.

😂😂😂😂😂😂🤡🤡🤡

But illegal immigration is down 99% since Trump took office.

🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Is there infrastructure to provide everyone that needs a photo ID one in the bill?

I called my county clerks office and asked if they provided a photo voters registration card. They told me no.

Sorry, I thought this was the SAVE Act provisions.

Do you have a link to the actual measure voted on?

(Not tweets and social media, but the actual text? Thank you.)

"(c) Valid Photo Identifications Described.--For purposes
of this section, a `valid photo identification' means, with
respect to an individual who seeks to vote in a State, any of
the following:
``(1) A valid State-issued motor vehicle driver's license
that includes a photo of the individual and an expiration
date.
``(2) A valid State-issued identification card that
includes a photo of the individual and an expiration date
issued by a State motor vehicle authority.
``(3) A valid United States passport for the individual.
``(4) A valid military identification for the individual.
``(5) A valid identification document issued by a Tribal
government that includes a photo of the individual and an
expiration date."

BLM should be able to get IDs for blacks, right?

How do all of these people who cannot obtain an ID get welfare?

Did you inquire, if your state offers driver's licenses or state ID cards?

So only 5 states are following federal law passed by congress with the REAL ID Act of 2005?

What are the numbers of people and their names saying that they want to vote but don’t have the necessary supporting documentation to vote?

Democrats need to get these numbers and names and put the onus on Republicans to provide the infrastructure and funding if necessary.

If Republicans are unable to get that infrastructure in place for the names of people nationwide who have stepped forward, then those names and faces get an exemption for the upcoming election.

Thank you.

I don't have an issue with requiring Voter ID to vote, so don't have a problem with the above requirement.

Now, being done just before the mid-terms as a means of voter suppression? Sorry. Voting for 2026 elections have already started.

So take the requirement, make enforcement 2028 and add provisions where it is the governments responsibility to provide such an ID free of charge (including the cost of supporting documents), provide funding for such IDs, add provision for an "Ombudsman Office" for those having difficulty obtaining documents to seek redress, and an information campaign to get the requirements to ever US Citizen potential voter and I think it would be good.

Did you inquire, if your state offers driver's licenses or state ID cards?

You have to pay for them. Has no one paid attention to the many court rulings over this?

If you have to buy an ID to vote, that then becomes a poll tax.

After calling the county clerks office, I called the secretary of states office. The lady I talked to told me she would call me back. That was two days ago.

The REAL ID Act of 2005 does not mandate the indication of citizenship status on REAL ID's.

WW

Which then begs the question, what was it really for?

Control. To see how easy it is to make people buy anything and jump through hoops.

BS, democrats were able to force through vote-by-mail in less time during the presidential election which had already started.
