Have you seen a map lately? Russia's largest border is with Kazakhstan. 7,500 KM, then China, 4,200 KM, then Mongolia, 3,400 KM.

The Ukraine has a border of 2,000 KM.
The whole of NATO has a border of Russia is 1,261 KM, add Ukraine's 2,000 KM and you get 3,261 KM which is.... less than Mongolia's, less than China's and less than Kazakhstan's, and it would merely for a sort of broken ring from Norway down to the Ukraine.

Were Russia to annex the Ukraine, Russia's border with NATO would.... rise anyway.
Also, Putin would have to give back the parts of the Ukraine he just annexed, which would be seen as a failure, not going to happen.
