Not necessarily. Everyone starts at the start line. They run the same distance. There is one winner - the fastest runner. This is completely fair; everyone had an equal opportunity. That's equality.

Equity would be making faster runners wear heavier shoes.

Unequal outcomes are natural and required for a healthy society. Life is what you make of it.

I say we just have equality in America and that's it.

Equality meaning you aren't allowed to have special treatment, exceptions, considerations or benefits. That includes fags, alphabet people, blacks, women, and everyone else. You have to get by in life based on your ambition, skill, intelligence, experience and education. If some company hires all white people because they are the best candidates? Then so be it. Reverse racism and reverse sexism should be a criminal offense. It's already illegal but no one pays attention when it's reverse.

If your rich or poor or in between then so be it. You reached your level of potential. Not every person in the world can be rich and successful, that's not how reality works. To be equal means you let people play their own hand and if they crap out well then they crap out, they had an opportunity to do more but didn't or couldn't, most will do pretty well, a few will do very well. That's fair and equal.

To be equal means you let everyone deal with their own life and not interfere. Soon as you say "the poor blacks dont do well in school so we need to change the system so they do better" that isn't equal.

I see no reason why equality of opportunity should not be wanted and aspired to as a society. In the entire history of mankind it has never been achieved, not even close but nevertheless we should do the best we can to avoid discriminating against anyone.

I don't. Equity should be earned by your own ingenuity and efforts, but just because you had the same opportunity as someone else does not entitle you to receive the same compensation that they did.

The Democrat Party has come to be dominated by well educated, well paid bi coastal professionals. These lack the public enthusiasm the Republican Donor Class has for tax cuts for the rich, but they do not really mind, because they benefit.
