Who said saving money was a goal of a republican Shutdown? It is about being authorized to expend appropriated funds.
You are only authorized to expend funds for essential functions regardless of the cost
Guess what? Parks are non-essential
243,000 jobs are non-essential...really. Were park closures mandatory or did Obama decide that parks should be closed. Given this president's obvious concern for jobs, it seems to be a strange decision.

Obama is not President any more according to RW the republicans are in charge. How that happened is anyone's guess. Obama and the democrats fail to negotiate and shut down the government hurting the little people and all RW can do is reinvent history.
