We need a "red wave" like we need a damn hole in the head. I mean come on, Republicans control the House, what a damn shit show. They have the majority in the SCOTUS, how does the public feel about that body at the moment? And when it comes to state governments, where Republicans have a super majority in many states and a majority in most states. And many of those state legislatures are a direct reflection of our House of Representatives, a damn SHIT SHOW. Texas, Kentucky, Arkansas, North Carolina--flippin damn SHIT SHOWS when it comes to the state legislature.

Yes...but it is good when DC does nothing and is in gridlock.

Reps excell at getting little done. Dems are outstanding at getting things done. The problem is everthing the dems do destroys America.

Remember the first two years of Trump's administration? All we got was a little tax decrease. Not much more. The Republicans couldn't even put through a good immigration bill. Trump had to seal the border himself.

Trump firmly controls the GOP now. The establishment can't force RINO appointments like in his first term. He was an outsider and the establishment and RINOs led him astray. Once he consolidated his own power things began to change.

If the GOP doesn't figure out how to set aside their individual pet wants and grievances among each other and pull together in harness to elect a Republican President and Congress in November, we likely will never ever have an opportunity to do so in our lifetime. And the disaster that has been the Biden Administration will become the new normal for America.

Here's the thing. The reason why the former "German Workers Party" changed its name to the "National Socialist German Worker's Party" was because, in Weimar Germany, the population was equally split between Nationalists and Socialists, and the party leaders wanted to rebrand the party to appeal to more people. As an aside, Hitler hated this name change and was against it, but it stuck. They acquired the name "Nazi" because they would derisively call the Socialists in the SPD "Sozi" and the Socialists would scream back "Nazi" and they said, "Hey, we kind of like that.

The problem with Nazism was always the Nationalism, not the Socialism.

Or, you can pull the rug out from under Trump, and then start to rebuild your party as a sane one.

The reason why the Republicans survived the disasters that were Hoover, McCarthy, and Nixon was that they didn't tie their brand identity to one toxic man after he proved to be toxic. They redefined themselves. it took nearly a generation after Hoover, but it only took one election cycle after Nixon.

The biggest problem the GOP has is that it's become the White Grievance Party. This alienates the 35% of the population who aren't white and white folks who are decent enough to realize we live in a country of white privilege, and we probably need to work on that.
