DOGE went in and audited congress, discovered tons of fraud and waste, and congress decided that they were above the law. So they packed that bill with tons of pork and put in one thing that made it worthwhile, continuing Trump's tax cuts.

The outcome was pretty predictable.

Changing, or adding to a law after it has been voted on should be illegal.

The worst part of this is that there is absolutely nothing wrong with carefully and intelligently auditing all government expenditures and making government as efficient as possible, before deciding on cuts or additions. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with creating an ongoing system of such audits.

Great idea, and it's about time. No doubt there is a great deal of waste, and smart audits done by experienced professionals is all good.
