Ehrlichman quote in 1968

The war on drugs may be America's most expensive failure. Body counts in the millions, biggest prison population on earth and the rationality for the American police state itself. After all that waste Americans can still buy all the drugs they want. Damned right it was a racist attack on minorities. The differing penalties that once existed for crack and powder is all the proof anyone needs.
Ranks up there with the "War on poverty".

Somewhere in the neighborhood of $20 TRILLION SPENT, poverty rate has remained basically the same.

THE "WAR ON POVERTY" did as much damage, maybe more, to the black community then "SLAVERY"

In Both cases, it focused on replacing the male as head of a household, replaced first by the SLAVE OWNER and then second, replaced by a SOCIALIST BUREAUCRAT.

That's because big business hijacked the war on poverty and used it to subsidize stagnant wages for 50 years.
That is easily the most ignorant shit I've seen on this parade of economic illiteracy in quite some time.

Congratulations...You've been selected as dullard-of-the-month.

Tramp is trying to use Law and Order too, mainly against the Democratic mayors, while he was not concerned with Law and Order since he became Potus, its seems he is now only because its an election year.

Its basically the same as Nixons, the left (the democrats) and BLM (black life matters) = the hippies and the blacks.

Indeed. The campus radicals and anarchists of the 60s, both black and white, were spouting precisely the same nonsensical shit their contemporary clones are spouting today.

I was there, and I know.

Find this book, and then you'll know too.

“You want to know what this was really all about,” Ehrlichman, who died in 1999, said, referring to Nixon’s declaration of war on drugs.

“The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I’m saying.

We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities.

We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.”

Yep, I just watched that on MSNBC's Ari Melber. Trump is trying to create chaos and then trying to take credit for stopping it. It is hilariously hypocritical. Only the dumbest among us will buy that insane shit. BTW, law and order ended Nixon's presidency.
Say its true. You keep promoting the Progs are as pure as the driven snow. Its one side versus the other and the flaws of the politician laid bare for all to see whether true or accusations. The truth is we have moved far to the left and are moving even more so. Our taxes and the size of all our governments is way over 50% of the GNP. And a lot of it is waste. How do you not even answer why poverty still exists after spending more then 23 trillion dollars on it over the years? At the same level it was before we started the great society. Taxpayers deserve better. And your programs are only partially successful. During that time we have converted from a private side economy to a massive public one with the taxes actually destroying people who are not in on the goodies. So much so that those not involved have moved out of cities along with the privileged who have received fat salaries, fat benefits and fat pensions.
