How does it work in America ?
Our government has just announced that they are privatising our schools by handing them over to "Academy" organisations. These can be anything from a corporation to a few schools .

They arent accountable to parents,they dont even have to employ teachers in teaching positions.

This is a good example of the kind of poblems that can come up.

I doubt that Head teachers/Principals earn more than the President.

To balance that all of my kids went to an academy school and did well.

So do you operate a similar system in the US and does it work ?

Yes.
Currently the local councils run schools. Finance will be transferred from them to the corporations running the schools.
Assets such as land and buildings will also be transferred over at no charge.

Corporate schools? Yuppers. Let's lower wages, get rid of benefits, and expect teachers to flock to those jobs. Say good bye to education.
