Don’t let the right tell you gun control does not work because it does.

Dems never talk about banning all guns. You just pretend we do because the nuance of gun control policy is too complicated I guess lol
Of course they do

What do you think the "assault weapon" bans are all about?

We do not need gun control we need criminal control.

If we started actually enforcing all federal and state gun laws what do you think would happen?

Oh look at this shit the self professed smart people claim gun control works but can't explain why people are killed in gun free zones.

California is a shining example of success for curbing gun violence with gun control legislation. It doesn’t come from one specific policy - but a combination of several.

“For the last 20, maybe even 25 years — except for the two years of the pandemic, which have increased homicides and suicides across the country — our rates of firearm violence have trended downward,” said Wintemute, who directs the Violence Prevention Research Program at the University of California, Davis, Medical Center in Sacramento. “And this has been at a time when most of the rates in the rest of the country have gone up.”

California’s rate of firearm mortality is among the nation’s lowest, with 8.5 gun deaths per 100,000 people in 2020, compared with 13.7 per 100,000 nationally and 14.2 per 100,000 in Texas, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported. And Californians are about 25% less likely to die in mass shootings, compared with residents of other states, according to a recent Public Policy Institute of California analysis.

….California has done a lot to prevent high-risk people from purchasing firearms. We’ve broadened the criteria for keeping guns out of the hands of people who pose a danger to themselves or others due to mental illness. If you’re convicted of a violent misdemeanor in California, you can’t have a gun for the next 10 years; that offense has to be a felony in most states….

….We require background checks, and not just from licensed retailers; in most states, purchases from private parties require no background checks or record keeping of any kind. We have a system, that we’re evaluating now, for getting guns back from “prohibited persons” — people who have been convicted of violent crimes or who are facing domestic violence restraining orders. And we enforce these policies, unlike a lot of other states.

So according to a California based news source homicides are higher.

Not to mention the crime waves going on that are so high major businesses like cvs are closing stores.

See what people like you will never understand is taking away guns and have stricter gun laws doesn't actually solve anything. Even if you took away every gun in America the criminals would still remains. The criminals are the problem, not guns. There are over 400 million guns in America, if they caused violence we would all be dead right now.

Unless of course you're post is just you being facetious and I didn't recognize it. Which is possible.

But firearm homicides would not.
Yes they would just like criminals still traffic in illegal drugs the criminal element which is responsible for 70% of all murders would still have guns

Why are so many people moving from California to Texas?
Your article would suggest they must want to increase their chances of getting shot.

Can you not read?

Oh. Deplorable. Right. My bad.

I hate to challenge your 2 dimensional pigeonholed view of the world because I know you are intellectually incapable of realizing that nothing is as simple as you need to think it is but I have not voted for any republican in over 20 years.

Look. You guys think other people's school kids are a fair price to pay for your 'freedoms'. Fair enough.
But don't pretend gun controls can't work, because the evidence from around the world makes a mockery of your protestations.

Embrace your selfish freedoms. That's the proper American way.

Looks like you're clinging bitterly to your guns to me. Nor do you show evidence you can read.

My legal ownership of firearms has absolutely nothing to do with the crimes other people commit.

Tell me are you responsible for every drunk driver who causes accidents or for every person who dies from alcoholism because you might legally enjoy a drink?

The easy access you have to your legal firearms has everything to do with the school children who die to ensure you that freedom. No need to get defensive about it, embrace the freedom.

It's you control freaks who are bitter about other people choosing to do what you do not want them to do
Lol. I thought that was the parents in Uvalde. And all the other schools.

But the tree of freedom must be watered with the blood of school children. No one can argue with that.

I don't think I have easy access.

I had to pay for a class, pay a hefty fee, get fingerprinted like a common criminal just to be able to buy a handgun then I had to undergo a background check for every single firarm I have ever purchased.

It's a lot easier for you to buy whatever alcohol you like to drink so by your logic you are far more responsible for every death caused by alcohol than I am for deaths caused by people using guns
