Don’t complain if you don’t receive your Social Security Check

You saying it happens on a scale so great you need to scrap or disrupt the system is cynically dishonest
/---/ I'm not saying it happens. DOGE is. I believe them, but I have no first-hand knowledge.
But here is something even you need to acknowledge.

"American supercentenarians are citizens or residents of the United States who have attained or surpassed 110 years of age. By January 2015, the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) had validated the longevity claims of 782 American supercentenarians.[1][needs update] The oldest living American is Naomi Whitehead (born in Georgia on September 26, 1910, and now residing in Greenville, Pennsylvania), aged 114 years, 177 days.[2] The longest-lived person ever from the United States is Sarah Knauss, of Hollywood, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, who died on December 30, 1999, aged 119 years and 97 days.[3][4]" - Wikipedia.

And the moron tries to divert the thread again

Are you so embarrassed by what the Commerce Secretary said that you need to keep changing the subject?
/----/ How does providing a link to the SS Admin saying there is fraud change the subject about fraud in the SS system?
You can't or won't address it.

The left is worried about ALL of us getting screwed in our retirement.

You’d be smart to do the same
The Great Society since around 1965. Ghettos are still the same. Only it cost tens of times more to keep them from destroying cities.

Do you think people who need a monthly Social Security check are committing fraud?

Easy question, why do you keep changing the subject?

So you know what happens if you eliminate the tax right?

It accelerates how much money is coming out of the Trust Fund to meet current benefits. Why? Because income taxes on SS Benefits go back to the Social Security Administration to help fund current benefits.

That will result in a 25% cut in benefits as SS will only be able to pay benefits equal to revenues.

So we have a couple, let's say around average getting $2000 each, that's $48,000 per year. At 85%, that's $40,800 taxable. Minus the standard deduction for a couple is $30,000. 22% tax rate on the remaining $10,800 is a tax of $2,376.

Now once the Trust is exhausted those $48,000 in SS Benefits (remember married couple with both eligible) now get SS Benefits of $36,000 (25% cut) or a loss of $12,000 per year.

Yep, to save $2,376 in taxes now, they will get a hair cut of $12,000 a few years earlier.

nice try, but totally wrong. No benefit cuts are being discussed or planned in any scenario. the only cuts will be stopping payments to people long dead.

if the person the check is made out to is dead, then someone who is cashing the check is committing fraud. That is the issue, doofus.

I didn't say ANYTHING about planned benefit cuts as a change to SS Retirement.

I was addressing when the Trust Fund is exhausted and not longer able to supplement current revenues. Once the Trust Fund is exhausted benefits WILL be cut by 25%. Currently that will happen circa 2034. If SS benefits become "tax free" the Trust will be exhausted sooner.

Basic math.

(Assuming no other action to make-up the shortfall between revenues collected and benefits paid.)

And there should have been thousands and thousands of charges filed by now.

Has anyone verified that this supposed mother-in-law really exists? Did she die after starting benefits? Did Lutnick maybe change the routing of the check so it goes into his account and the MIL really died years ago?

I'm not making any accusations. But some are say, can't say who, but some. So this really needs to be investigated. If every thing is legit? Fine, but some say it should - you know, very smart people - are saying it should be investigated.

Lots of people have joint bank accounts

Taxing SS was ridiculous from the start. There needs to be another way to fund it. Add a 1% VAT tax on everything for everybody. I haven't done the math, but I would imagine that would add quite a bit of money to the fund and ensure the everybody "pays their fair share". In addition, crack down on the abundant fraud of people wrongfully collecting disability and there should be plenty of money.

Happens all the time
Checks keep coming until the death certificate comes
Then it is payback time

Do you think seniors need their SS check or not?

#1 You want the FEDs to add a VAT and get that camel nose under the tent?

#2 Funding for SS diability is a different from SS Retirement.
