Let’s say Social Security didn’t send out their checks this month,” Lutnick said during a YouTube interview Friday. “My mother-in-law, who’s 94, she wouldn’t call and complain. She just wouldn’t. She’d think something got messed up and she’ll get it next month.”

By contrast, he said, “a fraudster always makes the loudest noise, screaming, yelling and complaining. … Anybody who’s been in the payment system and the process system knows the easiest way to find the fraudster is to stop payments and listen. Yeah. ’Cause whoever screams is the one stealing.”

Has anyone verified that this supposed mother-in-law really exists? Did she die after starting benefits? Did Lutnick maybe change the routing of the check so it goes into his account and the MIL really died years ago?

I'm not making any accusations. But some are say, can't say who, but some. So this really needs to be investigated. If every thing is legit? Fine, but some say it should - you know, very smart people - are saying it should be investigated.

I wouldn't complain, i'd figure they would just make it up later.

I get royally schlonged on the taxes levied against it nowadays anyhow. Hopefully, the D's don't block President Trump's proposal to get rid of that greedy tax

So you know what happens if you eliminate the tax right?

It accelerates how much money is coming out of the Trust Fund to meet current benefits. Why? Because income taxes on SS Benefits go back to the Social Security Administration to help fund current benefits.

That will result in a 25% cut in benefits as SS will only be able to pay benefits equal to revenues.

So we have a couple, let's say around average getting $2000 each, that's $48,000 per year. At 85%, that's $40,800 taxable. Minus the standard deduction for a couple is $30,000. 22% tax rate on the remaining $10,800 is a tax of $2,376.

Now once the Trust is exhausted those $48,000 in SS Benefits (remember married couple with both eligible) now get SS Benefits of $36,000 (25% cut) or a loss of $12,000 per year.

Yep, to save $2,376 in taxes now, they will get a hair cut of $12,000 a few years earlier.

Can’t make this stuff up

Trumps Commerce Secretary says only fraudsters would complain if their Social Security check doesn’t come.
Most would just say….Doesn’t matter, they will send two next month

Shows how clueless they are.

Elissa Slotkin is a moderate Democrat who stole the election for senator in 2024. She is separate from the radicals of her party. And when the legislation is pushed for her party, she will vote for radical agendas when empowered. Our nation needs to survive.

Do you even read the post you are responding to?

You are running a highly inefficient and corrupt public service, have been for years, and it has been challenged. Do you make an honest effort to reform the system and try to improve service and admit wrongdoing, or do you make the pain as much as possible and punish the customers hoping that you can spin this your way? That's how we've done it in the past, and threats of health care and social security have worked so far. Corruption and co dependence is built into our way of life and it will not be easy to correct but I think it is still possible. Maybe.

The problem with our society is people can steal or e corrupted. In everything and it costs a lot of money and resources. A monopoly public transportation company bus accident can have a few people on it and end up with 20 people with lawsuits. We do not deserve to survive as a civilization.

I think it's brilliant.

Step #1: Cut off SS payment for a month.

Step #2: Anyone calling to complain is obviously committing fraud.

Step #3: Trace the number and have them arrested.

Step #4: Send them to a prison in El Salvador.

(Remember we can just ignore that pesky "Due Process" thing.)

You can't make an honest effort at reforming the program by claiming millions of 150 year olds are collecting Social Security.

You won’t complain?

Just bend over and hope it don’t hurt too much?

Is that the best you have?
Instead of commenting on a Trump Billionaire saying only a fraud would complain about not getting a check……you comeback with a fake story about 130 years olds getting checks

Trump and Musk are looking for lib scam artists who are defrauding SS and Medicare, along with Medicaid

The left is worried about losing their criminal gravytrain

You saying it happens on a scale so great you need to scrap or disrupt the system is cynically dishonest
