Donald Trump to make gas cans great again

I have "pre-ban" Eagle gas cans. 2-5 gal., 2-2.50 gal, 1-1 gal., plus a 5 gal. Kero can.....I still have my first 2.5 gallon can I bought during the gas crisis! :)

When a local hardware store went out of business I went and bought all of their stock of spout assemblies, storage caps, and replacement vents. I've refurbed/sold many a Eagle can.

I was getting $45.00 for the 5 gal. cans.

Smaller yard? Yeah....you got options. With a large yard like mine and in the deep Southeast in the backwoods country....it's a jungle out there. I need the power and extension cords or batteries are going to be more work than less.
I use a 60" zero turn for mowing...because I got the room to maneuver it and don't get stuck. I do my father's postage stamp yard too. It takes about 15 minutes and the weedeating just as long if not longer. (Too easy) but my dad's place only has a couple of trees. (Used to be a rental)

He uses an electric blower for the clippings on his driveway.

But after 200 feet of the usual homeowner extension cords you MIGHT get a total of 9 amps. Meaning some of the stronger outdoor tools might not operate so well. And it only goes down from there.

Meaning you need heavy duty extension cords (12 Guage or even 10 guage) for 400-500 feet. (Not my idea of a good time laying out those HEAVY cords)

Hubby got me a zero turn when we had 5 acres, I loved it. I can't do cords, also not good at trimming or edging. I love doing yard work but hate the clean up. I'd probably do more but my husband always gets big and heavy equipment.

I don't know what I would do if I lost my old one, I have had for years. I guess go on ebay and try and find one. Mine is just the bottle with a spout you unsnap the cap off of. No springs or any dumb stuff like that.
The White House is trying to make gas cans fill great again.

In a July 24 letter, the EPA has asked gas can manufacturers to redesign their much-maligned products to fix a long-standing problem: "People hate 'em," said Florida-based eBay gas can reseller Steven Watt, 63. "It's all about the spout."

The biggest problem is that the new ones don't have vents so they swell up or crack at the weakest spot in the top seams allowing water to penetrate in the rain for those of us who just leave them sitting outside wherever we last used them.

Regardless of whether there will another 12 years of GOP rule, I think that he touched upon something important. It seems that policies just change based on who (or which party) is in power. Somehow this just doesn't seem very good. It's kind of like laws changing based on who the lawmakers are. I feel that this is an inherent feature of multi-party democracy that we cannot escape. It's highly undesirable.
So you prefer one party rule like Russia Cuba North Korea and Venezuela. You need to think about this

They must have been 6-gal/3.5 pts for mixing of oil for the old sno-machine motors.

The little rubber "button vents" are hard to find.

About a $55.00 average on ebay. Here's one with the proper metal flex-spout and cap.

I bet you would not part with it for a new one. ;)

A soldering iron and some string trimmer line, in effect brazing the seam, fixed mine right up.
Also, that kit I posted earlier provides vents.

I take it you are talking about a plastic can?

You really have to keep them inside someplace that's sorta temp controlled for them to last.

LOL.....Despite the dem angst this turned into a useful thread! ;)

The new safety spouts definitely spill more gas.
For our big forklift, we use a huge funnel, remove the spout and pour in diesel NASCAR style. Takes 30 seconds to pour the whole can in.
I hate the new gas cans.

Yep, swelling in the heat tends to cause leaks in the handle area on old Blitz cans.
I liked the "pre-ban" 1.4 gal. blitz cans because of their squared-off design. They were great for carrying with my chainsaw on the four-wheeler.

I have a plastic rectangular milk crate my small Echo chainsaw sits in with a slot cut in the side for the 14" bar.. The Blitz can nested with the saw perfectly and helped keep everything from bouncing around so much.

Well I suppose taking a soldering iron to my plastic gas can would vent it....

I have that size for premix gas for my weed eater.
