There are many languages spoken in the United States -- primarily in urban areas (i.e. San Francisco, New York City, Dearborn, Minneapolis), which is far more than just two. I don't give a shit about Bolivia or India for using multiple languages, but we don't expect nor should expect to go into a foreign country and take over its culture.

I believe most of the immigrants I've seen have very good work ethics. The crew that just replaced my roof were all Guatemalan. They came at 7 am worked all day in the 90 degree heat and finally finished the roof at 830 pm. The white guy they work for probably makes a good profit on their work. Everybody wins. They ate up.the $2,000.00 copay too.

Canada has less than 21% French Canadians and they've been bilingual for years. It's just a simple courtesy and is more representational of the people. That's one reason Christianity should never be declared the state or official religion. It wouldn't be appropriate to place one religion above the others. The US has no official language which is rather odd. English is the most commonly spoken language of the 350 languages spoken here.
