Don t Let Anybody Tell You That Businesses Create Jobs

Lots of brilliant people here. Not one of them seems to know what demand is. It is frustrating them.....and making them surly.

Nothing you type is worth listening too LL, you aren't making anyone "surly".

Cool. You are especially calm at all times. I admire that about you. You never lose your cool.

Appearing at a Boston rally for Democrat gubernatorial candidate Martha Coakley on Friday, Hillary Clinton told the crowd gathered at the Park Plaza Hotel not to listen to anybody who says that “businesses create jobs.”

Hillary Don t Let Anybody Tell You That Businesses Create Jobs

....and you Lefty pusillanimous puss pockets will lap this right up.
The issue I have is no one is asking "who are what does?"( Create jobs)
The fact that the main stream media allows nonsense quotes like this to go unchallenged is an indication that they( the MSM) are lap dogs for the democrat party

Demand for goods and services creates jobs. Period.

Owning a business is a job. No demand for goods and services.......no jobs.
Wrong. Ideas and investment in those ideas create jobs.
50 years ago, no one even thought of owning a computer. Steve Jobs came up with an idea and started building them. He hired people to build. Hired people to market the machines. Hired others to sell them.

#264- of course, there's no such car...

OP-Out of context GOP BS. "Trickle down doesn't work" was her point.

The Demise of the American Middle Class In Numbers.

Over the past 30 years the American dream has gradually disappeared. The process was slow, so most people didn’t notice. They just worked a few more hours, borrowed a little more and cut back on non-essentials. But looking at the numbers and comparing them over long time periods, it is obvious that things have changed drastically. Here are the details:

1. WORKERS PRODUCE MORE BUT THE GAINS GO TO BUSINESS.

Over the past 63 years worker productivity has grown by 2.0% per year.

But after 1980, workers received a smaller share every year. Labor’s share of income (1992 = 100%):

1950 = 101%
1960 = 105%
1970 = 105%
1980 = 105% – Reagan
1990 = 100%
2000 = 96%
2007 = 92%

A 13% drop since 1980

2. THE TOP 10% GET A LARGER SHARE.

Share of National Income going to Top 10%:

1950 = 35%
1960 = 34%
1970 = 34%
1980 = 34% – Reagan
1990 = 40%
2000 = 47%
2007 = 50%

An increase of 16% since Reagan.

3. WORKERS COMPENSATED FOR THE LOSS OF INCOME BY SPENDING THEIR SAVINGS.

The savings Rose up to Reagan and fell during and after.

1950 = 6.0%
1960 = 7.0%
1970 = 8.5%
1980 = 10.0% – Reagan
1982 = 11.2% – Peak
1990 = 7.0%
2000 = 2.0%
2006 = -1.1% (Negative = withdrawing from savings)

A 12.3% drop after Reagan.

4. WORKERS ALSO BORROWED TO MAKE UP FOR THE LOSS.

Household Debt as percentage of GDP:

1965 = 46%
1970 = 45%
1980 = 50% – Reagan
1990 = 61%
2000 = 69%
2007 = 95%

A 45% increase after 1980.

5. SO THE GAP BETWEEN THE RICHEST AND THE POOREST HAS GROWN.

Gap Between the Share of Capital Income earned by the top 1%
and the bottom 80%:

1980 = 10%
2003 = 56%

A 5.6 times increase.

6. AND THE AMERICAN DREAM IS GONE.

The Probably of Moving Up from the Bottom 40% to the Top 40%:

1945 = 12%
1958 = 6%
1990 = 3%
2000 = 2%

A 10% Decrease.

What she and Obama are trying to tell us is that businesses, corporations, and industry doesn't create jobs only the government can do that, what a crock.
That's precisely her message. That all productivity and wealth creation is at the blessing of government.
That government is in the position to "grant" the people permission to create.

I'm not frustrated, I know what demand is, had a business and now help market business. However, your responses indicate that you are a trolling ass on this thread. Enjoy your day.
I would disagree with your statement "on this thread."

Demand sells products, companies, such as Apple, create demand, which sells products.

Marketing creates demand and value, demand an value create products.

I do disagree that demand creates jobs. It is business and business investors that create jobs.

...I suggest that you would be much happier in a Communist country where the government owns the means of production, there is no such thing as big or small businesses and illegal entries are shot or put in slave labor camps. When are you leaving?
Somebody pee in your Cheerios this morning? I think that Communism is a marvelous idea, on paper. I also think that Communism is an abortion in the Real World. It's one of the reasons why I spent time across the border from the Soviets and East Germans, while wearing a green suit for Sammy. I vote Pub as often as I vote Dem.

Nice try.

Not.

My sin here is violating the Standard Pub Song Book's maxim that Business does not encourage Illegal Immigration.

It does - believe it or not - like it or not - and we cannot put an end to a thing (Illegal Immigration) if we delude ourselves about its contributing factors.

Don't confuse a difference of opinion on a handful of issues (like this one) with a Polar Opposite state of affairs, or indications of such a state.

The world is not black and white. It's absolute filled with grey areas, where folks who agree on some things will end-up differing on others, yes?

Peace.

The bottom line is that Obama could put a stop to businesses hiring illegal aliens if he simply enforced the law. So you can lay the blame for that at his feet. Do you really believe the federal government isn't aware of illegal aliens working for American companies? Everyone in the buildings I've worked in knew that the majority of the janitorial staff was illegal. I used to practice my Spanish on them every day. They didn't speak a word of English.

Having a good product is what creates demand. No amount of marketing is going to sell a crappy product.

You parrot back whatever is fed into the Prog Collective no matter how stupid.

It's amusing.

Tell us again about these demanding, or not so demanding consumers.

Lone Laughingstock doesn't post a word that hasn't originated in the leftwing propaganda organs. He's nothing more than a signal booster for state controlled media.

I would dispute the term "crappy." You create value for the customer. Every customer's idea of value is different but by careful marketing you discover where most customers want to be.

Yep, Steve Jobs put hundreds of people to work before a single computer was sold.

Because the economy slows or the business has fucked up.
Honestly, does this need to be explained to you?

He's a troll on every thread. Comes here to drop one liners and drive by posts. Like some wise ass who walks into a room, cuts a real nasty fart and takes off.

It's kind of odd that you fuckers still argue this point. It's not even complicated.

I'm a business owner. I ain't hiring anyone if I don't need them. I only need them if there is damned for what I am selling. I'm not running a charity.
So hypocritical.

Yeah, there is no evidence in reality. :rolleyes:

Two largest tax increases in the history of this nation occurred under Bush Sr and Bill Clinton and that was followed by 20 million new jobs being created.

The massive tax cuts under Bush Jr resulted in a net zero job creation. Even when you factor out the economic collapse there is zero evidence that tax cuts produced any jobs.

The Truth About The Bush Tax Cuts And Job Growth - Forbes

So the "evidence in reality" is that increasing taxes does NOT harm the economy.

Actually, a recession followed immediately after Bush's tax increase. It seems liberal time horizons on the their post hoc fallacies are infinitely malleable. According to liberal theory, a tax increase can cause economic growth 6 months after it is imposed or 60 years after it is imposed.

So how is that the country came out of that recession with those tax increases in place and the expansion took off even after Clinton increased taxes even more?

How is that possible?

How was the recession of 2007 possible with all of GW Bush's tax cuts in place?

Liberals are so damn funny. You better tell franco he is full of it in post 207 because he is saying exactly the opposite of what you are saying. Yes, both Reagan and Clinton, and Bush Sr. raised taxes. They were able to because Reagan's "voo doo" economics ushered in the greatest peace time expansion of the economy in history. What Clinton did was take advantage of that and give us "free" trade screwing the working man today. Clinton was the worse.

worst bad......worse.....worst

Clinton indeed fucked up by "giving us" free trade agreements. Wouldn't it be cool if you could say that you disagreed with him when he did?

The rest of your post...regarding the greatness of Reagan...is nutter fantasy. But....I think you know that.

I, as a union official, for many years did disagree with it when he did. I voted for Perot for just that reason. The Union told me that whomever voted for the "free" trade agreements would be punished, they lied, they seal their fate, they are on demise because all they do is talk. Reagan didn't fire the Air Traffic controllers they walked out on their job. What did the Unions do, absolutely NOTHING but talk.

Reagan return greatness to the WH from the malaise of Jimmy Carter. If you were old enough you would know that fact.

Clinton was the worse president in my life time.....better?
