There was a time when the government actually ran the media. It was during WW2 but the media has become a willing supporter of the democrat party agenda for the last fifty+ years. The first thing any totalitarian regime does is to take over the information network. The Nazis did it by force but Biden didn't have to worry about ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, PBS the NYT and WAPO. They were willing propaganda supporters and still are.

I do not believe either the media or govt control the other. They sure as hell don't when the GOP controls Congress and/or the White House. Substitute the Democratic Party for gov't and you might be closer to the truth, but I really don't believe that either. It's mostly that those who own or run the media and those who run the govt are mostly educated in progressive liberal schools and colleges, almost brainwashed to follow the Leftist ideology. That's mostly and almost, there are times and cases where they diverge.
