unlike you I'm not poor I don't need to cry about the big bad gov

I believe it was Winston Churchill who noted that socialism's one virtue is the equal spreading of misery.

So ... you don't think you aree taxed enough already?

Taxes have been raised to varying degrees by states, but the federal taxes on income has not been raised since Clinton was in power.

No.

And I'd wager that way more than half those who vote Democrat don't know that "Democrat Party" is not the correct name of the party.

You can call it Democrat, Democratic, or Democwat, or Demorat, and at least people know what they represent. However, it's difficult to determine what the "new newer far right conservatives" wish to call themselves if not Republicans. Wanna take a stab at it?

You'll have to ask them, not me.

Democrat Party (phrase) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Democrat Party" is a political epithet used in the United States instead of "Democratic Party" when talking about the Democratic Party. The term has been principally used by conservative commentators and members of the Republican Party in party platforms, partisan speeches and press releases since the 1930s. The explicit goal is to dissociate the name of the rival party from the concept of democracy.

Democratic Party members and non-partisan individuals have objected to this modification. New Yorker commentator Hendrik Hertzberg wrote:

There’s no great mystery about the motives behind this deliberate misnaming. "Democrat Party" is a slur, or intended to be – a handy way to express contempt. Aesthetic judgments are subjective, of course, but "Democrat Party" is jarring verging on ugly. It fairly screams "rat."[1]
No. Both the Republicans and Democrats can thank Thomas Jefferson who founded the Republican-Democratic party. In the civil war the parties split with Republicans being led by Lincoln. So no, the naming of the party was not a slur.

If the Bush tax cuts are allowed to expire, the tax rates will be rolled back as specified in 1998 (about 39% as opposed to 35%).

I like gridlock party. Asswhipes in both parties want my cash for extreme plans.

The DEM party or DEMs as a whole do not offend me... it is the far-left, progressive, whack jobs that offend me... and the sheeple who blindly follow anything just because it is the party to which they belong, instead of looking at things logically

Well gee, doesn't it occur to you that most of us aren't offended by real, sane Republicans either? My entire family was once Republican, but ironically they are "offended" by the "New Right" and their outrageously unworkable demands.

what are their outrageously unworkable demands?

The reason why the democrat party is accepted as the party name is because "democrat" has always been used as a noun without offense intended nor taken. If the dems really wanted to turn this one around they should start using "democratic" as a noun. As in, Truthmatters is a registered democratic. If they all started doing it, eventually it would take over.

it's not the democrats or the party

it's the damn progressives

but your avatar makes me want to go back to school. Evidently mine was different:razz:

I agree. The damned progressives offend the hell out of me. The ultra conservative arm of the GOP offends the hell out of me as well.

Sure wish I looked as good as that avarar does. LOL.

And unemployment will again skyrocket. :cuckoo:

Nope. There are some within the party that are complete numbskulls and Marxists and/or Communists.... Hey, I started my political life as a Dem. But then I watched it turn into the rat infested stink bag it is today.... and I moved on.

One would have to be utterly ignorant to assume that raising tax rates on business will somehow generate greater Federal revenue. That's jackass thinking.
