I don't think 40% effective rate would move much money, but the 90% I keep hearing about definitely would. I'm not saying it's the "country's wealth" (although it did ). I mean the net worth of the country en total. Thanks for the clarification. Messed that up.

If the choice is annexing Switzerland to get access to stashed cash, or defaulting, I'd annex Switzerland temporarily, get the US cash owed, then leave.
