Do you think the universe is an endless one? It’s infinite?

Yes, because if there were an end, what could stop the universe? a wall? but then again there would be something behind the wall, so it’s an endless.

Here's how the universe likely comes to an end, according to Newtonians.

As I understand it.

The Universe is defined by matter; as matter is continuing to expand, the end of the Universe is not a wall, it is the dark matter which is the space not occupied by matter.

Confused, me too:

Even nothingness is something.

Sartre? Being and nothingness.

What if an atom inside my fingernail is an entire universe...and our entire universe is an atom inside the eyelash of some larger being?

Ever read horton hears a who?

Starless, planet free open space. Absolutely nothing but empty space..until it is occupied with eliments of an expanding universe.

It’s hard to conceive anyway, but if there’s an end, what stops the universe?

Above - An all-sky plot of the 25000 brightest, whitest stars (B-V<0) shows how these stars are concentrated along the Milky Way. This map shows our limited, inside view of the Galaxy. The large, dark patch near the middle of the picture is due to nearby dark nebulae in the constellations of Aquila and Ophiuchus.

The universe has no end
You can never reach the end as it is expanding at light speed every second thanks to dark energy

We can wonder at an intellectual level about all this, but on the human scale time and the universe are infinite. Absolute limits in these terms have little meaning for life.

infinity? Eternity? Blah, who knows? All we know for certain is that an additional 120PPM of CO2 will end all life on Earth in 11 more years

If two lines converge in space, then it is bent and so finite. As with any body. if you keep going in the same direction you will ultimately return where you first were.

no one knows and it's beyond our mentality to even imagine what's there

Nah. We know now that there is no "empty" space. The universe is mostly spacetime and quantum particles with some heavenly bodies one of which is Earth and our solar system. Beyond the universe won't be any of these things so it could be another dimension or its gateway. I think the only infinite thing we can have is time.

Thank you for all your responds, it's very interesting !:)

We would be there miniscule in the vastness of the universe and who might be the great and the infinite emptiness ? this is what is difficult to conceive ; we cannot, we do not have the capacity.:dunno:

Haha. It looks like you don't know shat.

For those who follow science, they know we have discovered these things and more. We'll be looking at how spacetime curves as we look at it off into the distances of space. We are aware of gravitational waves caused by dark matter. We look to discover more about dark energy in this process.

What you should be LYAO is what the scientists of the science of atheism believe. They make up fairy tales such as multiverses and multiple dimenisons -- maybe ten or evel eleven dimensions -- without a shred of evidence. The make up things such as wormholes so we can travel light year distances in a fraction of the time. These people are truly out of their minds.

If the universe is finite there is a theory that if you kept going you would eventually end up back where you started. The universe would be curved.
