I do not believe that we did not go to the moon. I will say though that the Artemis Orion capsule took a wide orbit of earth through that radiation belt for a long whole orbit around the earth that took some time before it rocketed to the moon.

One thing that surprises me even today is that historically people always knew politicians lie for a living, yet continue to listen to them, and believe them.
