I've never deleted a post once it's submitted. If I had the bad judgment to post it I think it's only right to own it. I delete my share of posts before hitting the button though.
I can think of at least 2 occasions since being on this board I really, really should have done that and for some reason just....didn't.
You DO own it -- even if you have the insight in a sufficiently timely way to delete it.
But if you've ever had the experience of just wishing you could suck some words right back out of thin air -- the delete option can be like a wish granted.
If someone has already responded, however, I agree with you. Then, we
should own it and maybe own up to the fact that we said something stupid. Why defend a position you don't really espouse in the first place?
