the fact that you think you answered the question you were asked when you answered one that you wish was asked is what determines/defines it as ideological...it was a question that could have been answered with a simple "yes" or "no" without ideology...you've gone from asking for an example to avoid answering the question then claiming the example as irrelevant because you can't answer the question...And even if irrelevant to you, see if you can answer the original question yes or no...make sure you re-read it....remember it is about being fair

Your original question intimated that fairness could somehow penalize one group over another, which is non-sequitur. I asked for an example, and you provided one that leaned toward intimating that groups under dissimilar circumstances could not be treated with fairness.
yea? no?...seriously, do you know what ideological means?

The Second Amendment is a Civil Right.

Extra Constitutional Right

The right is not granted , nor is it dependent , on the Constitutional

The so-called civil rights are typically granted by the welfare state in order for the politicians to acquire power.

A welfare state = government BUY the people

.

There is nothing civil about suppressing one person's rights in favor of another person's feelings.

Do you believe that civil rights needs more attention, or it already have had enough and it's time to move on? Why/why not?
What is your definition of "civil rights"?
.

Yep. If we can't agree on the definitions, or even the definition of 'rights' in the first place, it's kind of a pointless discussion.

We need to enforce the law period. The amount of melanin in ones skin, or the slant of their eyes, has absolutely no bearing upon anything. If they break the law or cause a disturbance, arrest and prosecute them!
As long as the laws are enforced fairly without regard to one's race or ethnic background, I agree. Can you name such a place ...preferably one where diverse populations commingle?

Sure, Arizona, California, Colorado, and about 47 more!
HAHAHAHAHAH! I thought you'd say that... You joke, YOU JOKE! Great sense of humor... heh heh heh!

OMG, very first time I have run into someone with ESP. Yes my friends, you gotta give it to John Q because he is the one, the only, the charming and delightful person, who has ESP!

Now then, what is ESP? Why, that is an Extra Sensitive *****-) And yes, John Q is the quintessential furry little lippy pinko that would be considered.....that is correct....a *****! Right color, a little fishy, just hanging around, and constantly pisses all over themselves unless they squat!

Yep, a definite puss; the only question is--------> be it blonde, brunette, or redhead with freckles-) Whichever it is, I got a buck 3.80 that says it STINKS like fish, cause it doesn't take care of itself, just bitches about everyone else!

They are fighting to KEEP the rights they already have. Things ranging from voter suppression to being forced to live in toxic areas of a city marks the disdain for civil rights heaped upon non Whites by White governance.

I agree, Democrats in the 60's, 70's and 80's packing minorities like sardines in deserted areas away from whites was a national disgrace. Many blacks are still suffering from it.

The actions of which you speak was a bipartisan quid pro quo effort to maintain the status quo... That attitude persists across party lines.

Nope. You can keep saying it, but just isn't true.

Here is the deal. How do you explain White flight in most urban areas. That includes White Democrats AND White Republicans? Lets start with something simple like that... And after you ponder THAT for a while, consider the quiet acceptance or Jeff Sessions by Republicans as a nominee for US Attorney General? Sure some individuals in both parties are sympathetic to egalitarianism and civil right for all; but, far too many RWers in both parties have fought progress for Blacks every step of the way.

Take this to the flame zone. We are talking about civil rights here. Am I the only disciplined soul here?

No. And if you gave a damn about voter suppression outside of party politics you would be figuring out ways to help obtain birth certificates and social security cards and Drivers licenses and state IDs. Which would help in a plethora of ways outside of voting for your party. No. You just want to scream.

Does "civil rights" include the 1st Amendment right of evangelistic Christians?

First lets be clear about all of the FACTS, The unholy horrors? and the Who and where and when, and how long? First there is NOT A SINGLE person alive today who was a slave in the 1860's SO second there were only the years from about 1782 to 1865 that there was slavery in THIS COUNTRY, third every white person in the "SLAVE STATES" did not support slavery, the vast majority were "SHARE CROPPERS" and lived at the whim of the "planter" but could be kicked off anytime and loose their work, their, home even life all at one time Slaves were very expensive and it required a very bad action for one to be killed, or severely punished as they were more expensive than any other single thing the planter owned, the treatment of slaves has been exaggerated to an extreme extent in some ways BUT it WAS inhuman even for the ones who were treated the best simply because it is inhuman for one person to have ownership of another. NEXT The soldiers that fought for the Confederate States fought to keep their families from being killed, their wives mothers and daughters from being raped, and their crops and homes from being destroyed, (Burned, stolen, trampled) NOT to keep slaves. So I guess that is what you taught your children, I guess you also taught them about the Northern Mill work and Company stores, schools, housing, doctors, tokens/vouchers and family debt, 9 year old workers 14 hr WORK days and all the other things that were going on in the illustrious NON SLAVE? north. I also guess you told them about unions being established to shut the blacks from the slave states out of any good paying decent jobs in the NON SLAVE north, and the riots and murders of hundreds of these people who had been promised better treatment who got far worse or death as a reward. ANYWAY I doubt that your education of your children about RACE even began to REALLY inform them of the REAL complete history of racial interaction in this country. Any thing you find in any history "TEACHERS?" book now is far from the real complete and honest history that needs to be taught..

What does "civil rights" mean in the 21st century? It seems to me that "civil rights" includes evangelical Christians doesn't it?

Favored classes are unconstitutional. Enforce equality under the law, not favoritism under the law.

Example?

I believe the war on terror has eaten away at our rights . Death by 1000 cuts . Support your local ACLU branch !

I am not worried about voter id. I can understand the logic for that even when I know there has never been widespread voter fraud. A more salient technique called Crosscheck was responsible for purging hundreds of thousands of LEGAL ( potential Democratic) voters from the rolls.nAs you might be aware A lot of Hispanics have the same first and last names. Thousands were purged off the rolls because of that. And due to the adoption of last names given to slaves to show ownership, many Blacks have common names such as James Brown, or Jim Smith. Whatever the criterion used to purge potential democrat voters from the rolls, those doing the purging had unbridled authority to carry out their mission without oversight from the opposition.

I believe in equal rights. Somehow Civil Rights has come to mean (to some) special treatment for some. That's what actual civil rights was intended to stop.

You aren't about voter suppression. You are terrified of party suppression. You're just another loud mouth that is too cheap to use your primary ID.
