Do you agree with Obama?

Obama explains why he doesn't use 'radical Islam'

President Obama recently answered criticisms from Trump that he never uses the words, "radical Islam", because he thinks it is a "distraction" that will create needless agitation towards those who practice Islam, even though that is what it is.

So is he right? Should we continue the PC charade of never saying "radical Islam"?

Obama says,

"We are not at war with Islam. We are at war with people who have perverted Islam,"

What part of that do you disagree with?

Radical Islam refers to the people who have perverted Islam you ******* fool.

So, a distinction without a difference then?

Exactly. It's a stupid ******* argument. Yes , it's lame that Obama doesn't use the term, but ultimately who gives a shit? I'm more concerned with the fact that he won't destroy them.

They are being destroyed. If the attack in Orlando was an ISIS attack, then try to understand that is their way of fighting. You wanted a war with them, this is it.

If the West wants to create stability in the Middle East and integrate Syria/Iraq into the global system, it is strategically insane to alienate moderate Muslims by insinuating that they are all radical. We want to foster nations like Turkey, which are Islamic but have good relations with the industrial west.

The Right wins elections by appealing to uneducated morons who believe that Mexicans are dirty, and Muslims are pre-modern barbarians.

Obama would be ******* crazy to import the Right's electoral catnip into the rhetoric of statecraft, which requires some kind of partnership with non-Christians.

George Bush was more concerned with the rhetoric of terrorism than he was with killing Bin Laden and postwar reconstruction of Iraq. We've paid a price by worrying more about rhetoric than action.

The terrorists love you Republicans, because your inflammatory rhetoric is the perfect recruiting tool.

As long as you believe that all Muslims are evil, than they have no reason to support the west. This conveniently creates the very radicalization that justifies our never-ending oil intervention in the region.

Is it that he "won't" destroy them or that he's not destroying them as quickly and in the way you would like or think he should?

There is a difference.

He wants more Americans dying in Iraq. Instead of us providing support and getting the Iraqis to fight for their own country,
he wants us to put 50,000 troops back in, let Americans do the fighting and dying,

and give the Iraqis a nice excuse to pull back and let us do the dirty work.

Its constantly proven wrong just like global warming

We aren't at war with a few billion Muslims. We are at war with a few thousand. If the mainstream of Islam as a religion were violent and terroristic,

that would be reversed.

I’m always tickled at this “topic”.

I’m often reminded of a show I used to watch called “Taxi”. In one scene, Alex (the protagonist) gets another job or something and he makes a mistake.

His superior chides him for a little while and tells Alex; “I want you to say the following: I was wrong, I’m sorry, and it will never happen again.” So Alex stands there for a few seconds and says, “Mr. Smith (or whatever his name was), I apologize, I’m sorry it happened and I’ll make sure its a one-time thing.”

His superior says, “Repeat after me. “I was wrong, I’m sorry, and it will never happen again.”

Alex smirks a little and says, “Well, Mr. Smith I assure you I won’t make the same mistake again, I am very apologet…”

His superior says, “I was wrong…I’m sorry, and it will never happen again.” Say it.

You guys strange fixation with this phrase is almost as humorous.
The Right's fixation with the term is not humorous, it is traitorous. The Right is fixated with aiding and abetting the terrorists as long as there is a Democratic president!

Nah it's not traitorous, it's red meat for the dumb as dirt, bumper-sticker-base. They will profess to believe anything about President Obama as long as it's bad.

Consider,
You don't tug on superman's cape
You don't spit into the wind
You don't pull the mask off that old lone ranger
And you don't piss off a billion + people

Politically correct people think before they act. No one can accuse Trump or the Trumpsters of thinking before they speak; words do have consequences. Do we need another Commander-in-Chief to call for a new Crusade, and provide the criminal element - the terrorists - talking and recruiting points?

Yes. Obama is correct and Trump is a charlatan (a person falsely claiming to have a special knowledge or skill; a fraud) and a demagogue (a political leader who seeks support by appealing to popular desires and prejudices rather than by using rational argument).

Does that mean that we should quit bombing ISIS and Al Queda in the middle east? That probably pisses off some of them, but I doubt if it is all 1 1/2 billion of them. The last time I checked the Iraq Army was almost all Muslims.

I've never once heard any right winger call the Ku Klus Klan terrorists "radical Christianity".

Not. Once.

So I think we should follow their example.

Exactly. And radical Christianity seems to more accurately refer to Kairos or death penalty protests or other seemingly unpopular principled stands.

In his first interview as the chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party, Dennis Milligan told a reporter that America needs to be attacked by terrorists so that people will appreciate the work that President Bush has done to protect the country.

"At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001]," Milligan said to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, "and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country."

Obama won't say it, because he's an Islamic sympathizer.

You're full of shit. Republicans are fucked up, but that's not how. They actually do want Obama to go fight the terrorists.

The problem is Obama is fighting FOR them instead of against them. In Syria, he's actually trying to accomplish the ISIS goal of toppling the government. He did help the radical extreme Muslims overthrow Libya and he supported their overthrow in Egypt. And in Iran, he helped the radical extreme Muslim government get normalized relations with virtually no cost.

Obama is the boy of the radical extremist Muslims, he's on their side. That's why he won't say it

You should go on the road with that brand of comedy.

That's what they say in public, but what they want in their heart of hearts is the exact opposite. Republicans are making a dogged effort to shed their political burden of Iraq by arguing that the Islamic State’s ascent is a symptom of Obama’s foreign policy, rather than a byproduct of the 2003 invasion they once championed. Therefore the more terrorist attacks on American soil and the more dead American bodies, the more the GOP can deflect from their blunder in going into Iraq in the first place. The move to shift responsibility is at the core of the GOP’s plan to define 2016 as a foreign-policy election.

Bull crap. You're just saying you believe your own bigotry. I know what's wrong with Republicans, that's why I left the party 25 years ago and stopped voting for them. This isn't it. They want a serious war on terror and they would get behind Obama just like Clinton for NAFTA, the crime bill and welfare reform. You're just believing the lies of the politicians you worship and your own hate, you don't know any more about Republicans than you do theoretical statistics
