I was a volunteer with my county's Sheriff Auxiliary for 7 years. We worked under the same conditions as paid deputies. It was made clear to us that our priority was enforcing the law of the county. Our resources were not to be used enforcing state, federal, or city law. There are people who are paid to do that.
