The thing is, people can be manipulated into doing things. And that's what's happening. Your body manipulates you, government manipulate, bosses manipulate. The whole time, when do you really have a choice?

It sounds like you're starting to poke at the idea of free will not actually existing, and that's a whole separate interesting conversation. I think in the context of our sanity it's less relevant though. The illusion is enough.
