We now have the bizarre and unseemly situation of a single Federal District Court judge making policy for the entire United States with respect to compulsory mask-wearing in public transportation.
Democrats - particularly Democrats in the Biden Administration - appear to be taking a virtual hissy fit and are keen to get the mandates back, as well as getting clarification that the CDC has the legitimate power to make such edicts.
And yet...
Democrats control both the Congress and the White House, don't they? How much trouble would it be to craft a two-paragraph piece of legislation clarifying the point, with immediate effect? Start in the House, pass it, send it to the Senate, pass it, then send to Sleepy Joe's desk. Wake him up long enough to sign it, and it's a done deal.
I don't know the legislative protocols and what I'm suggesting may not be practical, but it seems to me that they should be able to get the couple of Democrat mavericks on board for this little thing...maybe even get a few Republican votes.
Do they really want this? Doesn't look like it.
