Dinner meal ideas

I am stuck in the proverbial rut as to what to make for supper. Nothing sounds good and nothing new comes to mind........but ya gotta eat every stinking day.

Things we've had lately and/or is often on the menu.........

Asian type dishes.......stir fry/chow mein, almond chicken & gravy, sweet & sour chicken or pork, mongolian beef, curry, won ton soup,
Mexican......tacos every which way imaginable, burritos, enchiladas, one pot shells & beef, sometimes red sometimes green or verde.
meatloaf
swiss steak without tomatoes
salisbury steaks with mushroom onion gravy
Miisissippi pot roast, have also used chicken in place of beef
Italian......spaghetti, chicken parmesan, sausage & peppers, pizza
Breakfast for supper.......eggs benedict, sausage breakfast bowl (sausage, onions, peppers, potatoes, mushrooms and beaten egg cooked together), pancakes, french toast.
Soup & sandwiches

Anybody have any other ideas???

,
BBQ, smoked ribs.

Some ideas that we haven't tried in a while but can't wait to have again.

Stuffed Bell Peppers (couple of ideas on how to tweak those)

Homemade lasagna

Homemade Pizza idea from a girl I dated in California - "Shrimp and Cashews!"

Eat what you like. You don't have to change just for the sake of change.

My Japanese mother-in-law's stuffed peppers were the BEST, with miso.

Do you want simple? Grenadier March
I tried this meal prepared with different shape pastas and I found the best for it were the "quadretti" or "tacozze." I make my own pasta and just call it "large square," what is also flat like the store bought ones.
During my experiments I also found the onions are best when caramelized and the paprika added to it and the potatoes cooked soft and roughly smashed up before mixing it with the pasta. Here are three links. The first one gives the history of the dish with the recipe but the potatoes are not smashed. The second one gives quite good measurements but doesn't smash the potatoes. The 3rd one is pretty good recipe and suggests what to serve it with. Flavor wise it's better with smashing the potatoes to coat the pasta, hence the flat pasta preference.

2nd link

3rd link I think this is quite good recipe except it uses different pasta.

that was included in the 'soup & sandwich' option..........cause ya can't have grilled cheese without tomato soup
Many a evening at hunt camp when it was just dad and myself I fixed grilled cheese and tomato soup.

He would dip his sandwich in the soup but I was more cultured....I cut mine into quarters before dipping. ;)

Chicken Marsala is an easy and popular entree. Made it a few days ago, and my daughter, her husband and the grandkids came over for dinner.

They've been begging me to make more.

Wish I had ma-san's recipe!

Edit; a family friend maked great meatloaf using stovetop stuffing for the bread crumbs. I want to try that as a stuffing for the peppers.

Seriously, are you a one-sided meat eater? Have you ever tried making something delightful, tasty and good for you like some baba ghanoush with some fresh tabbouleh salad on the side?

And I don't mean those pasty, bland recipes offered on the internet either, or usually sold in restaurants and supermarkets, I mean the good stuff.

I know it doesn't sound like much, and the internet will tell you it is just an eggplant dip but it is a meal the way I make it, and the salad is basically a parsley salad with cucumber, tomato, lemon, tahini, and other things in it.

If you don't want the bother of roasting eggplants, you can substitute hummus b'tahini instead.

Write me private if you want, and I'll give you recipes.

Gyoza, miso eggplant, and fried rice is on the menu tonight.
