Zone1 Did Gd Save Trump from Assassin’s Bullet for Israel’s Sake?

Because, mostly, you religious crazies can't keep your bronze age superstitions to yourselves.
Hmmm. Are you sure you are not here because of an intrinsic interest in truths that are here now and were also present in the Bronze Age as well?

Yes - the anti-religion leftists find it lots of fun to mock and insult religious people. Another reason why you guys lost.

No, we lost because Hispanic and Asian men were too misogynistic to vote for a woman.

Ironic, as they will be hit hardest by the racism and xenophobia that Trump is about to unleash.

No. Probably less than 10% of my posts ae about religion and such

Obviously, I have an interest in history and politics and see religion as intersecting both, usually in a negative fashion.

Take Israel. We are part of an 80 year conflict because one religion thinks a magic sky pixie gave them a strip of desert and another faction thinks they need to be there for Jesus to come back.

This is absurd and crazy, but here we are.

magic sky pixie
Yes--silly, childhood covers are often used to conceal an ongoing interest in religion. It's known as splashing in the shallows. Perhaps one day the depths will be more attractive and fear of them might be overcome.

Or mabye we see myths as myths.

At one time, Zeus (AKA Jupiter) had far more followers than Yahweh did. Does that mean Zeus was real?

Stop pretending your superstitions are some kind of deeper thought. They aren't.

They maybe let you be less afraid of death, I guess. So that's something.

All incorrect, Joe. I love mythology and it is much different than religious faith. If you enjoyed mythology as much as I do, you would clearly see the differences.

Religious faith is reality, not superstitions, and an even more extraordinary reality than our sojourn through our present lives. I've noticed that those who fear death are the first to assign this fear to others. What you fear you assume others must fear, too. I assure you, death is nothing to fear. I know (know, not simply believe).

Why would their sincerely held beliefs be "mythology", but yours are "faith".

Do you not think an ancient Greek or Roman sincerely believed in Zeus?

I have a reasonable fear of death, but it doesn't include believing in silly mythology and being a general twit.

How well do you know mythology? Unlike religion, mythology never established a system of formal belief or even tenets/dogma that people follow.

Actually, I know Greek, Norse, and Egyptian mythology quite well. I am currently reading more about Chinese mythology.

Funny you should mention "formal beliefs"

Ever heard of the Arians? The Monophysites? The Gnostics?

What you mean by "Formal Belief Systems" was that the State decided that Catholic/Orthodoxy was correct and all these other opinions about Bejezus were wrong. You "Christians" have been murdering each other for 2000 years over arguments about transubstantiation, how many sacraments there are, and whether Jesus really made the Popes the top Christian.

The Pagans also had formal religious practices, especially the Romans.

The problem is that Zeus turning into a bull and carrying off Europa is just as silly to me as God pulling the Virgin Mary into the sky.

We are a quarter of the way into the 21st Century. We have space shuttles and computers now. We should not be here arguing over who God gave a strip of land to.

What or who is to stop God from manipulating who He will as declared in Isaiah 46:9-11? Your opinion? God appoints all government authorities, they cannot exist without the authority that comes from Above (Heaven) Romans 13:1-4, John 19:11. Vengeance belongs to God alone..........(Romans 12:9, Who uses men to punish men up to an including the death penalty. (Genesis 9:6) We are not to go beyond what is written. (1 Cor. 4:6)
