This thread is so ridiculous it makes me laugh out loud.
Pretend President Obama never existed and give the last 6 years to a white, middle-aged Republican male President. The same people slagging Obama would be pounding us with their guy's pretty impressive record.
Republicans would never let us forget how amazing they are for killing Osama Bin Laden. And saving capitalism. And slashing yearly deficits by more than two-thirds. And passing the biggest healthcare reform bill in 45 years, resulting in the uninsured rate going down from over 18% to a projected 11% in 2 years. And slowing premium increases 3 years in a row. And taking the unemployment rate of nearly 11% and cutting it practically in two. And slowing federal spending to its lowest levels in 60 years. And cutting taxes on 95% of the American public. For deporting more people the last 2 years than the entire presidency of George W. Bush. For overseeing record Dow Jones highs and getting back and exceeding all the wealth that we lost in the 2008 crash. For allowing guns in national parks. For fast-tracking domestic oil-drilling faster than any other President in American history.
The list goes on and on.
On some things, a matter of opinion is simply an error in fact. America is better off today than it was 6 years ago and on a multitude of levels. Who'd a thunk that under Obama, he would actually reverse the sad statistic that showed we were importing more oil than we were exporting. Now we actually export more than we import again. I didn't think a liberal was capable of that. I only thought a Republican could do that. Obama proved me wrong.
Despite a 6 year campaign of total obstruction, Obama has done a lot more good than bad. It burns some on the right that Obama is a competent, thoughtful, centrist man. They really needed him to be a Marxist and he has ended up being a nice, competent, moderate Republican President.
